Well, Mr. Tink is really on a roll. UGH. Aside from the crazy bounces the last couple days, and the crazy dives into green... I hosted a football viewing party yesterday. Locked the kitties in the bedroom (Tink doesn't care for company - but I also had food out for the humans). So, afterwards, I give him his shot and dinner, see off my guests, and DD is helping to clean up. We were careful to sweep up chip crumbs on the floor, rinse dishes, etc. WELL... in all the hustle... we forgot to put the pizza box in the fridge. We were out of the kitchen for no more than 10min, go back in and find a pizza box and ONE piece of pizza on the floor. There had been two pieces left. ohmygod_smile Searched the house for the missing pizza and determined it had to be inside a cat belly. I tested Tink and he was the same as P/S (this was at about +.75). I sniffed his breath and didn't detect pizza. So DD sniffs HER cat's breath (crazy pirrhana kitty Tarzan) and exclaims "YOU smell like PIZZA!" SO, I thought perhaps Tink didn't get any. Tarzan is CRAZY protective of his food - growling viciously even at humans if he has anything even remotely edible. He's really quite the little jerk. ANYWAY... thought MAYBE we were in the clear. Till +4.
So, sadly, poor Tink sat at "HI" from +4 until AMPS - when the meter still read "HI". I didn't bother retesting as I'm getting low on strips and assumed it was probably accurate. His +2 was coming down, so HOPEFULLY we're done with the crazy red/black for awhile.
It would be hard enough to keep ALL remnants of food out of reach of one diabetic kitty (especially since he eats things no "normal" cat would touch)... but when you have 3 others (plus 2 dogs) that are all working together in a big ol' anti-bean conspiracy... it's darned near impossible to prevent these kinds of things from happening!
On the bright side, he seemed very alert and bright eyed this morning, despite flying high all night. I think he was gloating. ohmygod_smile
