Well, Mr. Tink is really on a roll. UGH. Aside from the crazy bounces the last couple days, and the crazy dives into green... I hosted a football viewing party yesterday. Locked the kitties in the bedroom (Tink doesn't care for company - but I also had food out for the humans). So, afterwards, I give him his shot and dinner, see off my guests, and DD is helping to clean up. We were careful to sweep up chip crumbs on the floor, rinse dishes, etc. WELL... in all the hustle... we forgot to put the pizza box in the fridge. We were out of the kitchen for no more than 10min, go back in and find a pizza box and ONE piece of pizza on the floor. There had been two pieces left. ohmygod_smile Searched the house for the missing pizza and determined it had to be inside a cat belly. I tested Tink and he was the same as P/S (this was at about +.75). I sniffed his breath and didn't detect pizza. So DD sniffs HER cat's breath (crazy pirrhana kitty Tarzan) and exclaims "YOU smell like PIZZA!" SO, I thought perhaps Tink didn't get any. Tarzan is CRAZY protective of his food - growling viciously even at humans if he has anything even remotely edible. He's really quite the little jerk. ANYWAY... thought MAYBE we were in the clear. Till +4. :o

So, sadly, poor Tink sat at "HI" from +4 until AMPS - when the meter still read "HI". I didn't bother retesting as I'm getting low on strips and assumed it was probably accurate. His +2 was coming down, so HOPEFULLY we're done with the crazy red/black for awhile.

It would be hard enough to keep ALL remnants of food out of reach of one diabetic kitty (especially since he eats things no "normal" cat would touch)... but when you have 3 others (plus 2 dogs) that are all working together in a big ol' anti-bean conspiracy... it's darned near impossible to prevent these kinds of things from happening!

On the bright side, he seemed very alert and bright eyed this morning, despite flying high all night. I think he was gloating. ohmygod_smile

Wow...Tarzan and Tink ate a WHOLE piece of pizza???? That's pretty amazing. I hope they don't have belly aches!

Looks like Tink is working his way down. Yep, sometimes these things happen....we basically have to admit that they really are smarter than us beans!

Have a great day, guys!

Yup. Actually, the piece that was left was only about 2/3 of a piece. But, it was "veggie" - apparently they preferred the hawaiian. Frankly, I'm surprised they left ANY. Sometimes I fear my elderly pug may be missing when I come home. He's a pretty heavy sleeper - and with those two vultures... well... you just never know!

Sorry Jen, I had to laugh at your kitties antics. Some kitties have the strangest tastes but they get over those high numbers. Neko once ate some bread starter, went to black, and green two cycles later. The worst part was her GI system was not happy. Pizza can't be that easy on their tummies.

No, he wasn't. We've had him since he was 3 weeks old. He was a bottle baby. Go figure.

He DID have a mishap a couple years ago - my then bf had a party at my house while I was vacationing (yeah... my THEN bf... that didn't go over very well) and someone left the door open (BIG no-no around here). He was gone for 3 days and I was DEVASTATED. He was so shy that I knew nobody would be able to catch him but me. And I knew he must be TERRIFIED, having never been outside before. AND worried that being an inside kitty, he wouldn't even know the smells to get him home... Finally one night (as we were supposed to leave on a road trip the next morning - and I was beside myself wanting to cancel the trip) - I took my dinner outside because I couldn't stand to look at my ex. Sitting there on the steps, tears streaming down my face, trying to eat - I hear the slightest "mew" behind me. And THERE was Mr. Tink. He smelled the fish. His nose led him home. Big surprise there. I guess I now know why he didn't starve to death.

At least the pizza seems to have cleared his system. Yellow pre-shot and looks like it's gonna be a nice quiet cycle. I have an all day training tomorrow, so hopefully he doesn't throw me any curveballs in the AM. On the bright side, I dont have to leave until +2.5. The downside is, it's not supposed to be DONE until 5pm, which is PMPS... so I'm hoping we get out early. It's only about 30min away... but I dont want to have to mess with getting us back on track due to having to shoot late.

Hi Jen,
Didn't want to make light of your concern about Tink and the pizza but I agree with Wendy and Neko--you told your story in a very entertaining way and I laughed out loud picturing it  You ought to write children's books! "The Adventures of Tink and Tarzan!" Anyway, hope your sweetie is doing fine and had no lasting repercussions from his possible dietary indiscretion. ;-)
