Max had a great day and then a so-so night. Today it looks like a bounce day. I got Max right before Christmas of 1997 and he was about 2 1/2 months old. Since he was a rescue I don't know his exact birthday. He was only about 2 1/2 pounds of fluff and had blue eyes which later turned to their beautiful green color. I was lucky that he had not yet been neutered so I got to pick when to have it done. He had a parasite and diarrhea that lasted for months. I kept asking my vet if it would ever get better. Then he had ringworm on his nose. The vet that initially checked him out wanted to put him on strong medicine and weekly baths. He gave me medicine for his diarrhea that I couldn't get him to take, fortunately. I went back to one of the vets at the practice I had used in the past for a second opinion. The medicine had to be diluted with 10 syringes of water!! I also was told to get athlete's foot cream and apply it twice a day. When he blocked at the age of 5 and another vet pierced his bladder or it happened on its own I almost lost him. I called him my million dollar cat and with pancreatitis and diabetes he has continued to live up to that!! So happy birthday to my one in a million million dollar cat. I hope I am lucky to have several more years with him.
