Yesterday's condo

Poor little Iris is even more congested today. I hardly slept. She is such a sweet little girl and just spent all night cuddling with me and kneading me. I am taking her to my vet at 11:30 am today. We already took X-rays yesterday and as long as the vet feels like she is in good enough shape to sedate her, she will try to get a better look to see what is going on in her throat. This should be a quick procedure, but I can't help but worry. I will post an update as soon as I know more.

I am about to head out for my volunteer shift. Since I am the only person that is able to handle our red collar dogs (=dogs with a bite history), I couldn't call off at the last minute. ...and I figured it might be a good thing to stay distracted. No sense in making all of my animals nervous.

Iris is back home - the vet decided that it would be too risky to sedate her. She is having a very hard time breathing and swallowing. The one piece of good news is that the X-Rays were beautiful: no fluid in her lungs, no scarring and no sign of pneumonia. Her temperature is also normal. And she is getting enough oxygen. So whatever is going on is in her upper airway (a polyp is still a likely explanation). We are going to try vaporizer treatments and a homeopathic remedy over the weekend and will reassess on Monday.

A huge part of me is relieved that she is back home with me... but I am also really worried for her. And little Iris once again spent the entire appointment nuzzling my neck. She freaks out as soon as I try to put her on the table, but she does very well when she gets to be as close to me as possible.

Poor little thing but glad he xrays were good along with oxygen and temps. Civie Moo had horrible respiratory issues before I adopted her and almost didn't make it. Hopefully the vaporizer and homeopathic remedy will help. Sending more vines and prayers.

Sending lots of vines those weekend treatments at "home" help and whatever is clogging her up will soon be gone! Poor wee one. Poor "mama!"
