You asked this a couple days ago, and I notice that no one answered you:

I know that sometimes at smaller doses a small snack at +9 can be used to bring numbers down. Is that for doses below 0.5?

Definitely below 0.5 units, and more like 0.1 units. There have to be clear signs the pancreas is sputtering. Moot at this point, but maybe later.
