Good Morning LL

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=24949

Shadow is digging the +9 snack. Two mornings in a row, her amps has been green. She also added the 5th P today. I can't remember when she last felt well enough to play. We added some catnip to our herb garden this year, first year ever and dried some of that and dragged the feather of the fishing pole thru it and man, did she like it! Does my heart good. The kitty box room floor is dry (anti-jinx). We are 90-something days into this journey and I am feeling so much less beserk, dare I say normal?

we wouldn't have gotten here without your help, dear friends. we can never thank you enough. I hope you all have a good Weds.

Pat - what was in the U-haul?

Beautiful numbers for your Shadow, Kim! What a great report!
(the u-haul it was Barbie & Ken sized... ) They got me some great stuff though..including a webcam so my DD who lives in Oregon now can see my face...YIPES! Glad this forum doesn't have both video AND audio...perish the thought!! Can you imagine?
Hellooooo...I didn't choose a laptop w/webcam for a reason folks...
They are all cute though...it will be fun...

Kim...saw your post in my condo. Has your vet taken a look at Shadow's eyes?
My vet passed it off as cataracts. (as if to blame the FD)

I have looked up some online sites : http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1693 ... stractPlus
and from what I can gather, cataracts are much more common in diabetic dogs and not as often in cats with FD.
There are many reasons why the lens can become cloudy...and there is a difference if only one eye is affected. Glaucoma is another reason. I think the best thing to do is to read what you can and then talk to your vet about your concerns.
I have found the common age related condition, Lenticular sclerosis: http://www.petplace.com/cats/lenticular ... page1.aspx
This is part of the aging conditions that will face our furbabies whether they have FD or not. My two are 13 years old which makes them equivalent to being 68 in human terms. This is an interesting article that has an age chart as well as some of the problems them may experience as they get older: http://vetmedicine.about.com/cs/catgene ... iccats.htm

Maybe others will stop by to give more information....I would certainly be interested too...

I can't believe 90 days have gone by so fast since you joined up. You are doing such a good job with Shadow. I have been here a long time, and I am impressed. And look at that string of flat greens today  GOoo Shadow!

Re: 9/15 Kim's Shadow amps 91, +2 96, +3 85

we are not even believing this. from past experience, I know to test her at +1 because she will likely drop a bit more. LC at +1, +2 will work for her thru the night to +9, when she'll eat again. And just so nobody thinks I'm getting cocky, I'll load the automat as my insurance backup. :-D

+1 88. I see a few other folks still testing kitties this evening. our next potential drop is between +3-4. see y'all then.
