Hi Jamie. Glad to read that Jupiter took his first steps. His AMPS looks real good too considering what he's gone through.

Have a great day Jamie.

thank you all... i am going to post a new condo in a little bit... might be a few hours taking care of jupe now. just wanted to update really quick. took him to oncall vet this morning because swelling is really bad and looked like dried blood but it wasnt dried blood just a lot more bruising.

he is still in pain but acting a little better then last night. i think the swelling is really bothering him. the on call vet does think he needs to be on some pain meds for about a week longer so we will call jupes regular vet tomorrow morning and discuss.

this is update from this AM:
he is trying to get up sometimes. we left food in the crate for him overnight and when i woke up this morning there was food EVERYWHERE! and he had spilled his water everywhere. He was meowing... thats what woke me up... about 30 mins before i was going to wake up to give him his bupe. so i gave him some food and he did eat and i gave him some bupe and put him back in the crate (I had only been sleeping for about 2.5 hours) and I went back to bed. About an hour later he was meowing again and woke me up. I tried talking to him and telling him it was okay and to lay back down for some more rest but everytime I closed my eyes he would meow again. So I took him out of the carrier.... and he acted hungry and ate a little more. 30 mins after that is when I called oncall vet and took him there.

he used the litter box yesterday and peed a whole whole whole bunch and hasnt used the litter box since then.

every once in a while he will howl or yelp like hes in pain and he gets up and tries to adjust... like get in a more comfy position to lay. I think the swelling is really bothering him too.

he is resting right now

Also wanted to say that Jupe did keep his cone on all night. He had his tuna ff appetizer all over the inside of his cone
but cone was still on and thats what counts.... so I had to get a warm washcloth and I washed him with the washcloth but not anywhere near the incision or anything. His fur all smelled like tuna this am at the oncall vet.... but now he smells okay again :-D

Awww Jamie. He had heavy duty surgery. I'm sure he must be in terrible pain. It takes a lot for a cat to cry out
But the good news is that it WILL go away. I'm glad you took him to the vet even if just to be sure there is no infection.
My heart aches for you. I know you wish you could take his pain from him and that magically Jupe would get up and walk but
two steps is great!!. This is all new to him but when the pain starts to go away he will want to get around and that's when he'll start to balance better.
You will all get through this but I know this must be killing you now.

Tons of healing thoughts and prayers from me to Jupe and lots of hugs to you :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Jamie your doing great, after our talk yesterday it sounds like you and Dane are doing what is best for Jupe, I'm sorry he is in pain and hopefully he will be up and playing. Sending fast healing vines for our Jupe and to you to hun you feel better so you can take care of him..<3

Sending prayers to you, Jupiter and Dane. I hope he heals quickly and the pain med helps. I'm glad you had a vet look at the swelling. It will take time for his body to heal from the surgery.
