Yesterday was a little bounce clearing followed by a gorgeous flat blue surf. Thank you Levemir!

9/12 Recap:
AMPS 326 +3 345 +7 219 +9.5 146
PMPS 116 +2 135 +5 132 +9.5 106

A couple things I've learned so far about Neko on Levemir. #1 - it's not going to get rid of Neko's AM pink bounces. ohmygod_smile That's just part of who she is, so I'll have to up the dose until they become yellow bounces. I don't know if it's because of lack of duration or maybe her acro tumor has a lot of dawn phenomenon and sends out a lot of growth hormone in the AM, but it just is. #2 - Neko can get some wonderful flat blue nights and feels really good in them. She started out the night in harmony with her new Lev Soul Sister, LBG, as their first couple of tests were almost identical. But of course Neko's liver can't handle that much blue. #3 Finding Neko's typical onset/nadir is very much a work in progress. She used to vary a lot in Lantus, might still on Lev. Unfortunately, the lovely cycles which would have typical nadir are in the overnight hours with Neko and I don't do as much testing then.

I just got back from rowing and got the most wonderful reception from a pair of purring cats. It's so nice to be appreciated. And this was after Neko had wolfed down the last of her food, so it was sincere.

OT: Another sunny day on the water and the jellyfish are out!! We normal see swarms of moon jellies in August but all we saw this year was a few lion's mane jellies (stingers) in the water. But we went in the shelter of an island today and saw hundreds of almost dinner plate sized moon jellies (non stingers). They are so beautiful.

Thanks Michelle and Rhiannon for visiting this morning.

Hi Wendy,

Jellyfish swarm sounds beautiful & other-worldly. Did you get any photos?????

Congratulations - on the fun rowing session & the happy/purry fluffballs that greeted your return.

Sorry Neko's still bouncing on the Lev - maybe she'll level out - it hasn't been very long. Will keep paws crossed for you. She's still got nice Blue PMs, but I undertand how you feel about pink bounces - I'm with you on looking for yellow bounces, then blue bounces, then (shhhh - anti-jinx)

Have a great Friday!

That's so cool with the jellyfish. It sounds like there's learning curve with the Lev. Hopefully you'll get a good dose for Neko soon. I always love coming home to purry kitties.

It sounds like a beautiful day.
Your Lev magic is beyond the skill level of many vets, I'm willing to bet.
But then, you know your Neko.

Hi Wendy,
Fascinating about the jellyfish. That must have been spectacular!

Interesting "patterns" so far for Neko on Lev. I think you need a few weeks worth of data to get them sorted out. It sure looks like her "daytime nadir" is at PMPS at present (probably because onset is so late: it seems to occur around +9). Maybe you need to adjust the dose, but then there is the nighttime cycle!! (But even there it looks as if onset doesn't begin until around +9. But then there are the bounces.). I'm sorry not to be of any help here. Rusty's cycles are pretty predictable (at least they are when there are no disruptions in his routine): onset between +4 and +5, nadir somewhere between +7 and +9. Sometimes he has what I call "over-arching" cycles that take several days to play out: the individual cycles are grouped into a larger entity. I still have to work on this concept.
Anyway, good luck!

Have a fine weekend. It is still rainy here, but now it is cold and rainy. The weekend looks to have some sun, however, and hopefully that will carry over to Monday, when we have one of my favorite paddles scheduled.

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

PMPS 252
I decided the pink deserved a pokie break and was pleased to see a different colour at PMPS.

Thanks Suzanne, Carla, Lara and Ella for visiting. Figuring out Neko on Lev is very much work in progress. It's early days yet. On Lev as she did for Lantus, Neko often does these mini-bounces or bouncettes in the AM which delay onset and nadir. Shortly she'll get more juice to see if we can ratchet the bounces down a bit.

It's still sunny and warm here, so I spent a few hours on our house painting project. One more sunny day to get at it before the weather turns. No photos of the jellies. I'd love to but cameras and cell phones don't do well in salt water and the rowing shells are rather tippy. The only time I've taken photos was when I was in the coach boat and not rowing.

Looks like Neko had a much better cycle last night than her Soul Sista who needs more jooce. I think once Neko gets the hang of lev, you will all love the flat that comes with it. Begone with the Dawn Phenomenom!

Glad you got to row today. It sounds like a lovely day. Thank you for your very sweet words on our condo today. I feel the same about you!

Sorry Neko to poop out last night. A LBG has to get her beeyooty sleep and mum pokes me if I'm in blue or green!
