Max did get down to 154 at +4 last night so I got to bed then. I left out some food in case he dropped more. He didn't eat it but did at 5:45 this morning. Then he kept meowing for more food for the next hour 45 just so I couldn't go back to sleep. I tested him 15 minutes later but it is a food influenced result and he got his shot about 10 minutes later as well. This shows me again that the auto feeder that is still in its box might not work for Max. Just because the food is out is no guarantee that he will eat the food when I would want him to eat it. I could end up with food influenced test results.

I'm hoping for a nice calm weekend with my two patients, DM and Max who is yelling right now for his cat food.

With the timed feeder, I set the last compartment to open just about 2 hours before shot time but left the compartment empty. That way, whatever food was left in the previous compartment couldn't be eaten right before shot time. Just a thought....

So glad your DM was doing well enough to get to come home. Continuing to send prayers for her!

Hi Elise,
I hope Max will become friend with his auto feeder... maybe once he gets used to it....
I bought two but never even took them out of the box. :roll:
Like you, I did an experiment with multiple dishes of food left out, and Ginger ate them all.
I decided not to use them in the end because I didn't want to end up with one near-hypo cat and one very fat cat. :lol:

Glad you got some rest last night, Elise. You've been having a very stressful time lately.

Sending lots of healing vines and prayers for your DM. So glad she is out of the hospital. I'm sure she is, too!

Hi Elise:) I hope you can get Max to use the autofeeder, so you can get some more rest. It's so hard to be stressed and sleep deprived! So I'm sending some vines your way, for anti stress and to your DM. I wish I would have thought of the empty space thing when I was doing all that like Shelly mentioned! What a good idea. Anyways, I hope your weekend goes well and you can have some relaxing time. Hugs!

Tricia, yes stress has become my middle name lately. I am hoping that at least for just this weekend it will disappear.

Max is not going to go much lower so I will give his ears a rest for the remainder of this cycle.

Thank you, Carla. I'm going to take the auto feeder out of the box probably on Monday and leave it out a few days. Then I'll turn it on and see if he freaks.

It looks like a nice night for Max! I hope you are having a relaxing weekend, and I hope Max surfs nicely for you. There's quite the party in the lagoon tonight.
