So I think that sums up our day yesterday except I would delete the "LOL". :roll: :roll:

Today is the 2nd annifursary of Gracie's FD dx. In all honesty, we thought she would be OTJ a long time ago. Have we given up hope for remission? Absolutely not. She's on her lowest dose ever and she's made alot of progress. And like others who have reached this annifursary still posting every day, we are thankful for each of you and what you have contributed to her great health and our sanity. We are thankful that she does not know she has FD and she is her ever adorable, precious, silly, happy, lovable Gracie self. We are thankful for every single day we have with her and for what she brings to our life. We have learned so much about her, about FD, and about ourselves and what we are willing to do and sacrifice for this sweet, amazing soul who has been entrusted to our care. What a gift!! So a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you. You are amazing and we love FDMB!!!

Gracie did end up having a great surf last night after we got her stopped. I didn't feed her from +5 to +8 and she just got a regular little LC snack at +8 because she was hungry. Because I wanted to let it ride and see how she did, I tested her hourly. She had a vetty visit today to get her bloodwork redone so we can see if we are making any progress on the liver enzyme values. I hope hope hope they are all back in normal range....she is still on the AB for a couple more weeks as well as ursodiol and Denamarin.

As for our day....I am working on some things for DM...she is not doing well again and I also have some other things to catch up on here still and must get in a nap somewhere. I'll BBL, though. Have a great day.

Happy annifursary, Miss Gracie!!! I'm guessing the higher #s after the vet visit were because of the vet visit. I think most cats hate going to the vet. Like you, I'm not giving up on remission, either. Her #s are looking great. Keep up the excellent work! :-D

I don't think I could have done it without FDMB and may very well have given up.
So I"ll go with the 2 yr aniversary of new friends to celebrate; 2 years of improving others lives as well as Gracie and yourselves.
And it may have taken 2 years to get where you are, but that remission is coming. !!

Hope the vet news comes back all good-ly and such.... cat_pet_icon

Happy 2 year Annifursary! :YMHUG: It's great that Gracie is down to her smallest dose ever and still getting beautiful numbers. :-D Personally, I would have loved to have traded numbers with you yesterday. Today too, almost a 400 point drop to green. :roll: That roller coaster perfectly reflects how we feel sometimes. It's a journey, sometimes scarey and sometimes fun. But best done with our LL friends to help us along, because we know that they are all on the same ride and feel exactly as we do or did at one time.

What a wonderful thing to write about Gracie and how special she is. She is one lucky kitty, and we count ourselves lucky to be able to give them safe homes.

And the roller coaster - excellent - I'm saving every one that gets posted!

It seems more than a little paradoxical to be wishing someone "Happy Anniversary" as a way to mark when their cat was diagnosed with diabetes. I think for all of us, we've taken the lemons and made lemonade. There are any numbers of life's lessons learned from this experience -- and you've described many of those lessons well. I hope you celebrate in whatever way Gracie wishes (and maybe in some ways she dosen't fully appreciate). Thank you for lending a hand here. One of the gifts of this diagnosis is that we've all gotten to know you and appreciate your generosity of spirit and time.

Happy Annifursury Gracie! The sugar coaster image you shared is a nice representation of the ride we're all sharing together, although the kitties seem to be having waaaaaay more fun than we are! I'm glad to hear that Gracie is feeling great and having a ball being the silly kitter that she is. You and Mike have and continue to do an exemplary job dealing with the ups and downs of the Lil Stinka! You're all so lucky to have each other:)

Your mama found one cool gif! The roller coaster appears to be a lot more fun for the you than it is for Mamabean, but I am so happy to have met her that I "guess" having both our cats get a disease might, sort of, in a way, be a "gift." I do hope your Mamabean knows what a valuable member of the board she is, and I hope that you can celebrate the next annifursary Off the Juice!

It does feel sort of strange wishing someone a "happy" anniversary of a diagnosis of diabetes... I have come to think of Bob's diagnosis as a huge blessing in disguise. Had it not been for that, and for Gracie's dx as well, I would never have "met" you or any of the other people here for that matter. Only people who are "here" can understand how we can use the word "Happy" to mark a month, a year, or two years dealing with this crazy dance.

So, happy anifursary to you, to Mike, and to little Ms. Gracie, Marje!

The custom of acknowledging a cat's anniversary was already in place when I came---
It was meant to mark the day that our babies were dx'd BUT also the day they Started To Recover~~~
My Moonie was so Ill when she was first dx'd that any, and I mean any improvement was monumental!
Because of this wonderful place my cat received the love , concern & care she needed to recover from her devastating ill state she was in when we came....That is why we celebrate our annivarsaries..
That's what LL is all about--If your cat is lucky to go OTJ that is great, but many dont...And so we celebrate!

Thankfully, Gracie has recovered to the point where she is on very little insulin, she is well regulated, and a very Happy girl..And is well!!!!!!!
That is why I wish you both a Very Happy Anniversary--May you get what you wish for-Hugs & Love from us! :mrgreen:

Ann: the upside is most definitely that we found our home here in LL. It saved Gracie. Truly.

Rhiannon: you wouldn't have given up....you love your girl and you've done fabulously with her! And you have given so much to LL in the short time you've been here. Thank you so much.

Has it been two years??? I remember your first days here, seems just like yesterday. :-D I think we are all int eh same boat, all of us have come to view those annifursary's as the day our kitties started getting better, recovering their lives, being able to be just happy furry purry kitties. Truly a wonderful day.
