Garland is officially eating the FF again. Whew, so now I dont have to hunt down a new food for her. She is eating really well on her own. I have not tube fed her since yesterday afternoon. I feel good about it too. She ate 3 cans of FF yesterday. Which is what she was eating before she was sick. Basically everytime I was going to tube feed her, she ate so much on her own right before, I felt I would be overloading her... so it just kind of happened

This morning she woke me up at 6am begging for food bc she had eaten the whole can I had set out for her overnight. I got up, opened a can and she ate half of it within 30 minutes and just polished the rest off a few minutes ago. So its only 9:30 and shes already had 3 oz of FF :-D Im going to play today by ear.. . I want to see what she does. If I think shes not eating enough, of course I will give her a tube feed, but if she keeps eating like this, then I will just watch and wait.

Other than that everything going good. Garland is acting better than ever. Playing and sleeping. She seems very happy :-D

Yay on no more tube feeding!!! That's awesome news!!!! Garland's looking great!!! Hoping that she'll get a bit lower for you today, and continue to surf in the lower blues, and/or upper greens.

Today and tomorrow you and I will be having the triples, and then we'll be somewhere in the mid 80's. Stay cool, and have a great day! :)

This is an awesome feel good update Violet. I knew you guys would get here. Hard to imagine this in the beginning though isn't it. Don't go rushing to remove that tube. You want to keep it in just in case for a week unless there is a medical reason for removing it. You may not use it again, but you never know. Its a very quick office procedure. I bet your vet will be so impressed. I am just thrilled for you guys.

What I wish everyone who has been following Garlands recovery is: to start assist feeding right away when you notice a drop in appetite (keeping the liver healthy while you research the cause of the inappetance), and that a feeding tube isn't cruel. Cats adjust very easily, much easier than their humans. I know in my heart Garland's journey will have saved another cat one day.

Thanks everyone for your cheers of excitement today. Im so happy! At first I was getting really overjoyed that she was FINALLY eating FancyFeast again. I was so worried about finding a food for her. But then to top it off, to see how much she was eating and how I didnt need to tube feed her last night and today, has been so exciting!! Everyone keep your fingers crossed she keeps it up!! LOL Garland and I never would have made it this far without all of you on FDMB! Thank you!

I'm at work and saw those great numbers. I wanted to make sure all was well and read the entire condo! What a great bit of news. Garland is eating and her numbers are all blue and green!! Go Garland!!!!!

THIS GETS MY VOTE FOR "FEEL GOOD CONDO OF THE DAY"!!!

you'll enjoy this...my brother used to work for Peter Allen....who was married to Liza minnelli ...
so we've got a whole bunch of eclectic judy memorabalia... :cool:

my main bathroom is decked out with a Judy and Marilyn motif...

and Binks actually has a replica pair of ruby slippers...
he's shared them with the ladies at the kitty gatherings, so I'm thinking Garland gets the next "Wearin' O' the Slippers"!

Ahhh!!!!! I had a dog back in college too (who we gave to a friend later) who was named Monroe. I love all those old movies. My friends think Im crazy bc I watch old movies and musicals LOL I cant believe you have REAL JUDY GARLAND STUFF!!!!!! That is awesome!! I would die to even have her autograph on a piece of paper.

Not one tube feed all day today. dancing_cat dancing_cat I just popped open FF can #4 for the overnight stash for her. I think we are done with tube feeding!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!! Ill keep the tube in for at least a week just to make sure (via fabulous Karrie) But she is doing wonderful. Its a great week for her!! :-D
