Yes, I know, Polly runs a little high off the juice, but her nadir usually falls down into the 50-75 range and we're just going to keep her dry 'til she pushes the bounds more consistently. And she will spike on occasion. Gut issues.

She was scary sick back in June. Probably p'titis, but it was never conclusively diagnosed. But I took her as an emergency to Best Friends clinic and Dr. P ran every test imaginable from the regular bloodworks to digestive panels to special thyroid panels, radiographs, ultrasound. And maybe more that I'm not remembering now. Other than irritated intestines (maybe IBD, maybe something viral) everything checked out just fine! And after about a week of syringe feeding, odansetron, metro, and more bargains with the Great Cat than I can count ;), Miss Polly recovered. But every now and then, she'll spike. Usually at AM. Usually shortly before or after a sloppy pooh. But she comes back down. And that's all we ask. I've got juice and syringes and won't be surprised or disappointed if they come out of dry dock again. For now, though. This is good!

Rowsie has become a champ at fluids. I don't even have to hold her! She just curls in the "fluids chair" and doesn't fuss at all. Amazing. Now, her nails? Well, thank goodness she likes the scratcher posts! Vet visit just a few weeks ago. Kidney values are the same as a year ago! Stage 3, but stable!

Suzi's allergies are in abeyance! No itching, no licking, no foxtails this year! Still yeasty from time to time, but I can't believe the change in this girl in the last year. Cytopoint injection worked! She does have spinal stenosis and spondylosis in her lumbar vertebrae. Appointment at BF next week to see if acupuncture might help. She still jaunts and struts (she's a bully breed, ya' know), but up and down stairs is a hop and a skip.

Will crossed last December. We went to a specialty clinic in St. George. Neither the vet nor I could imagine how he was moving at all after we saw the x-rays. His 3rd cervical vertebrae had basically disintegrated, osteomyelitis. He was probably in unimaginable pain. I didn't bring him home. I just couldn't make him suffer another minute. I will miss him forever, but I'm so glad he was here for the time he was.

And that's the way it's gone here for the past few months. I'm going to try to get back in the swing of the board. I'm no FD wizard, but I can encourage and support. And I'll try.

Thank you for the update. Pics please.

Hard to believe Rowsie is calm about anything, but you are a fluids expert after all.:) Great update on Suzi's allergies. I bet acupuncture will help her. I was so sorry when I heard about Will. I know you did everything you could for him. :bighug:

Did Polly ever get scoped in her intestines? Endoscopy or biopsy? I keep hearing about a number of acros with GI issues of one sort or another. Neko's gut never got sampled cause her heart wouldn't handle the anesthesia at the time. So we went with either lymphoma or severe IBD. The Texas GI Panel said likely some SIBO too. Budesonide really helped calm things down for her.

I'm so sorry about Will. It's never easy. :bighug::bighug: I'm glad Rowsie is holding steady with her kidney values. How great she is calm about the fluids. That is so exciting that Suzi's allergies are better. It's good to see you back on the board.

Hi Marilyn!

I'm so happy to see an update about the whole crew.

I must say, my favorite, Rowsie surprises me, being cooperative about fluids! But for both your sakes, I'm glad. Good thing she's still not into a pawdicure, or I'd wonder if she'd been body snatched! Keep on keepin' on, Rowsie!

Yay for Suzi! I remember what a mess she was when you got her. I'm not surprised that she's flourishing under your care, though.

So sad about Will. I know you were/are heartbroken, but of course you made the best possible decision. :bighug:

Miss Polly, don't be messin' around too far up the beach, or you'll be back on the juice before you can lick your whiskers, and none of us want that!
