Slightly better start for Mandarin today... not sure if this means that he is planning on finally working the latest dosecrease, but I am planning on coming home for lunch to check on him. Walter is once again starting high... and if there's no movement today, he will be due for a dosecrease tonight.

Unfortunately, little Iris is still feeling crummy and doing some open mouth breathing. I called my vet as soon as they opened and they were able to fit her in this afternoon, right after I get off of work. I really hope that they will be able to help my little girl - she looks miserable.

Poor littly Iris, sending vetty vines for that cute little fluffball.

Walter dosecrease threat on the table! Momma has ITF.
Keep up the good work Mandarin, let's see you head shoreside.

The very best vetty vines for Iris and hoping they can make her better.

Looks like Mandarin can make it the beach today for sure. (anti-jinx)

Walter I hear something about a dosecrease. Just saying.......

Poor baby Iris!:( It is hard to watch them struggle with breathing problems. My Fritz is scheduled to see the Cardo doc and IM he is also struggling to breath. Please let us know what the vet says:bighug:

I guess I could have stayed on campus and eaten some lunch instead of running home to check on the boys. Both are back in high yellow. :arghh:

...and little Iris was sleeping in between Flora and Fern. They are all being very sweet and gentle with her. She is still breathing with an open mouth... can't wait to finally take her. Three more hours!

I is awful when you cannot do anything-- I just gave Rico an extra dose of lasix.... breathing issues are so scary...
I hope Iris perks up quick with nothing serious:bighug:

For as lethargic as Iris is at home, that sure didn't stop her from showing some attitude at the vet. She was a bit unhappy with the exam and all she wanted was to climb up on me and snuggle up to my face. I just adore this little girl.

So, the good news is that her lungs are clear and her heart sounds great, so there's no sign of pneumonia or fluid in her chest. However, she was still gasping for air and is having a hard time swallowing. The vet feels that the most likely explanation is a polyp... but she can't confirm that without sedating her and getting a good look under her soft palate. Since my friend's kitten (who came from the same original home and had the same symptoms) passed away while sedated last week, she didn't want to do anything without at least looking at the other kitten's medical records. You would think that it would be no problem to get the records - after all, both kittens are being fostered for the same rescue - but that doesn't seem to be the case. Hopefully, she will know more by tomorrow. We have tentatively scheduled another appointment for tomorrow.

...and I am trying very hard to not lose it, I am so worried about her.
