She is running pretty flat. Definitely going to need an increase.

Deandra is already looking better, so everyone is happy with her treatment now :) People keep commenting about her empty food dish and leaving food out for her/feeding her more. She is less than 6.5lbs and getting almost 350-400 calories a day over 4 feeding times. To me, that should be plenty calories even with the diabetes. She just gives them those big eyes and says "I'm want food!", little twerp.

I just have a 2 slot feeder there right now, might need to pick up a 5 slot to spread it out even more. She will eat everything that is put out so the feeder is more to slow her down than anything.

I did try switching her to EVO duck today. Her eyes watered terribly after breakfast. After I have her a little snack this afternoon, they did not. So not sure what to think on food. I saw a couple tufts of hair in the fresh bed put out this morning so she is still pulling her hair out.

I was at an event today with Sly. He was NOT happy. Lots of people stopped to meet him, but I called Jason to come get him after about an hour. Sly was sitting with his head in the back corner of the kennel and would just shake whenever kids were near.:(

aw, poor little Sly. He must be a timid guy. His ss looks good - I'm so glad he's staying OTJ. I hope he can find his furever family soon.

You have such a good heart, Melanie. I love the way you take all these kitties in and help them become healthy and find homes.

It doesn't say on the ss when she started insulin - you might want to add that. She sounds like a smart little girl!

Thanks Julie, how could I not help these babies to the best of my ability. Sly usually isn't a timid guy, the mall event was just too much for him. I was hoping it would get him some visibility.

I updated Deandra's ss a little. She just started insulin. The 243 was the shelter checking because she was symptomatic. I was unaware of that, or I would have had them go to the vet a that point and had a good chat yesterday with the director that is a vet tech and handles most of the medical stuff.

Most people have settled down and are now happy with arrangement of me being the one handling her care at the shelter, see that she already feels better and know that that is all I care about. There's some hurt feelings with other diabetic cat owners, but I can't help that. If I have to defend how I do things, its going to come off as insulting how they do things.
