Checkers got a bit of an increase this morning, from skinny to full 0.5u lev.
I promise to give this raise a good chance. :-D

Tux had been at clinic less than 2 hours, when I came in house and found a message on my machine. I was terrified of course, when I heard Dr Dave's voice. He would be calling only with dire news, right?

Tux's teeth were so good, he needed only a tiny scraping/scaling/cleaning,... and he was SO GOOD (or so scared), he didn't need to be sedated!
He had a physical, I opted for no bloodwork, since Dave didn't feel the necessity. They also did a mani/pedi.

He was pronounced healthy. ....and.....drum roll please......NO CHARGE!!
Ohmigosh, I'm so happy; now I can have Clancy's done withought taking out a loan!!

Favorite tech Brandy, told me he was so good..".what a difference between him and Checkbook". HUMPH!!!!!

WOO HOO!!! What a WONDERFUL GIFT!!!! Those wonderful things last for a LONG time in our hearts don't they! Checks, sounds like you need to take 'vetty' lessons from Tux....you're still extra sweet anyway...

BIG HUG BARB!!!

"Look, Ma, no Cavities!"

Great news on Tux's dental and paws crossed for Checks and the dosecrease. I hope he is feeling good today.

Barb, I've been trying to get your condo to say how happy I am about Tux, way to go, and No Charge, seriously! Do you brush Tux's teeth or give him the special cheweys to keep them clean? Good luck on Checkers's dosecrease, too. This calls for a celebration.

I don't do anything special to Tux's teeth. Must be genetics. :-D

I was shocked at the no-charge. Brandy said they didn't really have to do anything. We've had a long standing relationship with this clinic. Susan worked there, even before they opened 15 years ago. She set up their computer system for them, and did a little tech work, before they hired a registered technician.
But this was a shocker indeed.

I found out something amazing today.....It's not always my fault!!!!!!

All the times I knew I closed the civvies' room door, when they were eating kibble, and I go back and the door is open, I assumed I left it open, and beat myself up every time.

WELL!!! I saw Checkers open it today.....I swear it's true.
The door has no knob, or that thingy that keeps a door shut; I just pull it closed and it stays

Well today, I saw Checks standing up, leaning on it, popping it open. The first time today, I thought I left it open and he did get the kibble...hence the pink number.
The brat has been opening it and I didn't know it....he does that to the utility room door, but it is always slightly ajar, not shut!

Great news on the dental, not so great news on the naughty Checkers! His dosecrease was looking promising until then. Some cats are so good at opening doors. Our inside doors have levers and I fostered a maine coon who could reach up and pull down the door handle! The shelter I worked at had a sliding door from the community room to the kitchen, and every once in a while we'd get a cat who could get a claw in, the a paw in, and open the slider! What kitties will do for kibble!

checkers!! You little sneak! These darn cats can be so darn determined if they want something and it's out of reach .. it's their mission to make it WITHIN reach!

Hey, Barb -

Great news on Tux! AND - no charge?! AWESOME!!

Maybe 'Checkbook' doesn't like being compared to a sibling. I got to hear that from my older sister's teachers because she was so quiet and compliant and I was...uhm...NOT! If I had a point to make - I made it. Checkers - you just keep being yourself!! :-D And, what a sneakster opening the door to get to the contraband! You must learn to channel that for good!

Have a great night -

Libby (& Hershey, too!)

Checkers, you're paying now for that kibble raid!!

Tux, you are the star today!!

Barb, how lucky you are to have such a nice vet clinic.

Have a great evening with your kitties,

Hugs,

Ella & Rusty
