Caesar has been off insulin for almost a year now and his sugars lately have been a little out of wack. Day and 1/2 he was throwing up foam and didn't want to eat. I took him to the vet and found out he has hyperthyroidism. :( He will be starting new meds this week. Just wondering if anyone knows if this effects his sugars? I have another cat Baby which is Caesars brother that is already on thyroid meds. Vet didn't seem to concerned and told me to give it a couple weeks on the new meds and see how his sugars are doing. They haven't been extremely high but are over 100. Thanks for any help. :DAlso I need help to start a new template for my spreadsheet..:arghh:

Sorry about the new dx and that Caesar is was under the weather. Hope he's feeling better now. I'd grab a few extra tests in to see how he's doing. Hopefully the meds will get the hyper-t under control and it won't cause him to come out of remission. Hyper-T can be a reason for insulin resistance but I don't have knowledge about what it can do to bg's when a can is not in insulin. Give a few days, if he starts popping yellow you may want to post, ask for help and consider starting insulin sooner rather then later.

Test before food is held 2 hours around your old preshot time and or 3 hours after he's eaten. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I'm so sorry about the hyper T diagnosis, but at least it is treatable. I'm not sure about how it will affect his numbers. Maybe you should put Hyper T? in your subject line. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
