Well when she clears a bounce she does it in grand style!! Although this may be my bad. I think I may have shot her old dose last night instead of her new reduction. We had a storm last night and I was rushing to get everyone fed in case we lost power I remember drawing her shot to .75 but I don't remember dialing it back to .5

Re: 9/12 Autumn ambg-21 on hypo watch

Oh goodness... Snoball is in the grass but not the tall stuff. Hope she comes up soon. You're home to watch her right?
Come on Autumn, time to get up up up. Don't do anything crazy today.

What hypo reaction do you use? The HC food or the honey/caro on gums? I am always afraid that if I give HC food, then it will be difficult to get them back on their normal diet.

Re: 9/12 Autumn ambg-21 on hypo watch

Time for a confession as long as they have no physical signs of hypo I just feed the regular LC food and watch with the meter.

If I have a symptomatic hypo, I warm them if cool then Karo on the gums followed by food. Very rarely do HC Food

Yikes. nailbite_smile

Which meter is that? 21 on the Contour would give me pause, Relion Confirm/Micro not (quite) so much.

How often do you see a symptomatic hypo?

Re: 9/12 Autumn ambg-21, +2-93, +4-131

It was on the micro and with any other cat but Autumn my heart would have been in my throat.

With Autumn I have had one mildly symptomatic hypo where she was slightly walking drunk so slight that someone that didn't know her wouldn't have caught it. At that time her Contour simply said lo.

That said at the shelter where I care for their two current diabetics Silk has crashed 4 times on us the first time she was found splayed out unable to move but still responding to voice and touch. She was 38 on her meter. We also have one that is symptomatic at anything below 50. ECID

Since I had gone BTB, I'm happy to see she's doing good. I don't worry about Autumn, cause she's with you and you've been dealing with her long enough to know what she's doing. Case in point - you know how responsive she is to carbs and know that her regular food is enough to keep her up.

Need to test, just got back up and Lucian's eating. ohmygod_smile

Now for the rest of the story...

When she handed me that 21 this morning I was down to 6 strips good thing on the To Do list for today was pick up test strips!

I did shoot a .5 @ what would normally be her +4, good news is that we can sleep in til they yell for NOMS this weekend since I'm gonna have to roll her shot times back.

Re: 9/12 Autumn ambg-21, +2-93, +4-131, +6-113

That's almost exactly what happened to Joey the other night. A reading of 31 at +1 (Lantus) after shooting low to stay low. Only 4 test strips left. And of course the "Always Out" store was closed for the night.

I wasn't overly concerned, it's just that I wouldn't want to leave Chip unattended until I could confirm his numbers were up. So I'd dose some karo and and get some kind of test strips within the hour before the numbers dropped back down.

am number a little scarey but the rest are great!

Re: 9/12 Autumn ambg-21, +2-93, +4-131, +6-113

Well considering she didn't get her am dose until 11 or what is normally her +4. l'm loving that at her new +7 she is at 125 now to see if I'm awake to shoot again at 11pm. lol since the alarm sounds here at 4:45 am. No rest for the wicked and I must be really wicked because I certainly haven't been getting a lot of rest lol
