Never forget! (photo is the World Trade Center from our rooftop in Brooklyn)

Good Morning, Everyone,

We adopted Stu from the NY City ASPCA right after 9/11. We thought we would adopt a kitty to make room in the shelter for all of the kitties who lost their beans on 9/11. In a sense, Rusty is a 9/11 kitty, too, because he is Stu's successor.

Rusty had a good night, a good morning routine, a good schmooze, and is now chillaxin' in his basket. The weather is awful: hot already, and so humid that all our windows have condensation from the abrupt switch from very cold weather to very hot. Rusty has a vetty appointment this afternoon to clear out his anal glands and get a nail clipping. This morning I have to get my car inspected. The auto repair shop is right next to the vet, but I didn't want Rusty to have to sit around and wait for the car if there is a delay, so we'll go back to Lake Placid this afternoon for Rusty's "inspection and maintenance".

Today, in addition to running around, I will try to get my paperwork done and also give Edward a haircut. He looks like a mad scientist!

Our Park Slope, Brooklyn Fire Squad--first responders--lost half its men in the 9/11 attack. We remember them today.

Re: 9/11 Rusty AMPS 153

Hi guys .. Who could ever forget 9/11? It was so thoughtful of you guys to take in a kitty from the shelter, so other kitties who lost their beans could possibly be saved .. I hope both "inspections" go well today, both the car's and rustys  Have a great day guys!

Morning Ella ~O) ~O) ~O)

A very nice start today for Rusty - love that amps, and I bet the lagoon meister will be back on duty shortly. Good luck with Rusty's maintenance Appt. :-D I have to take Elsa in every three months or so for the anal gland thing, she just doesn't clear them as well as she needs too. Don't worry Rusty, it will be over before you even know they started.

I liked your photo a day to remember, yes. In memoriam for so many...

Good luck with DH's haircut. :-D and with your car. it sounds like a very busy day there. I hope all goes well. Have a great one!

Re: 9/11 Rusty AMPS 153

Morning Ella,
What a beautiful thought and kind way to bring your wonderful babies to you home. I listened to the reading of the names this morning and it brings tears to my heart. Many prayers for the families of those dear ones.

I hope tune up/check up day is good for both the car and Rusty! Hey, hugs to the mad scientist! my uncle starts to look like Einstein and my auntie whacks off "the sticky outy bits"
Have a wonderful day. Hugs and scritches from us

Re: 9/11 Rusty AMPS 153

Not a bad start to the day, especially after just returning home form Camp. I hope you get back to your beautiful fall weather soon.

We will all remember where we were that day. What a beautiful way to open your hearts in the aftermath.

I hope all your "maintenance" goes well today.

Re: 9/11 Rusty AMPS 153, +5.5 191

Hi again,
The car is A-OK and passed the NYS safety inspection and got a new sticker. Rusty is awaiting his trip to the vet (in 15 minutes). Thinking good-car-ride thoughts for our car-averse kitty!!

Back from the vet, a bit subdued, but fine. Rusty wanted to stay outside, but the carpenter is working on the greenhouse, so we thought it best to bring him in. He ate his treats and a little Paw Lickin' Chicken. I'm giving him the afternoon off from testing.

Distant thunder is rolling around and a huge wind just came up (and just as quickly went away). I think we're in for a storm, but maybe it is going to blow over.

Off to my paperwork, bbl,

Re: 9/11 Rusty AMPS 153, +5.5 191

Hi Ella,
I'm glad to see Rusty wriggling out of his camp numbers. :-D
Rusty, when you reach your usual lagoon, and call out for Lucy to join you.

off to bed. Sorry I never got back to the board. Paperwork had lots of math errors and it took ages to get it straightened out. Rusty is fine and coming down from his vet-visit high. The weather is hot, humid, unpleasant.

'till tomorrow. Thanks for your visits,

Ella & Rusty

I didn't realize Stu was a 9/11 kitty. Just confirms to me your and Edwards large hearts.

I hope all went well with the anal gland issue and pedicure.

Tobey would like to spend the day with you tomorrow as he has a vetty appt which he despises!

Enjoy the rain.

that is a great tale about Stu and Rusty. The shelters get too much from each disaster.

Hopefully Rusty will be back to his lagoonmeisering tomorrow..... Those glands always bring higher bg's...
Wish I could send you some cooler temps and rain....
but I am enjoying the surplus we are getting.... ( it was in my condo- drips and all)

We hope all went well with Rusty's "expression" and his numbers return him to the lagoon soon! Zener's numbers sure were better today, 2nd day since his vetty visit.

What a wonderful story of how Stu adopted you. :YMHUG:
