He’s lower than he’s been all day. I would dose him with anti nausea medication? Is it cerenia or ondansetron? I think we try .25 and see if that works since you can stay up. How about grabbing another test if it’s been at least 20 minutes?

Ondansetron. Cerenia didn’t seem to work on him. I’ll go dose him and see if I can get him to nibble. Then I’ll shoot. It’ll be a little later than usual.

Good it’s ondansetron as it can be given every 8 hours if needed. That’s what I use.can you test again first?

73 now. Just dosed him but I assume it’ll be an hour or two before it kicks in
Yes. You have at least that long before you might need to syringe if it doesn’t get him eating. Ondansetron used to work in about 45 minutes for Max. Is that the case for Oscar?

He ate a bit. Maybe not quite an ounce? Go ahead and shoot the .5 or go with .25?

I’m hoping it’ll be around there but I’ll keep an eye out.

I just saw this. I think .25. Did you shoot? The message popped up after the other one so I didn’t see it.
85 still. And he’s eating! Muahahahaha. Though I might need to bring him to the vet to figure out why he’s not eating.

Why do you think his appetite isn’t good?
I’m really not sure. He’s had a pretty sensitive stomach since he was a kitten. Vet thinks maybe IBD. I’m wondering if the added higher carb foods with the gravy and such is just messing with his stomach? He did hairball the other day and sometimes he’s a little troubled for a few days after that

How long have you been needing ondansetron? It could be the ingredients in the higher carbs but it could also be the protein if IBD. Chicken is often a cause and it’s in so many canned and dry food, even when not mentioned except in the fine print in the ingredients list.

He was on it for about a week when he first got diagnosed two months ago. I’ve only given it twice this week including today. Basically, Monday he didn’t eat super well, but seemed better for a couple days. Thursday he didn’t want much so I dosed him. And then today, particularly at dinner. He’s eaten chicken and not had problems until this week so I’m not sure. I just guessed the HC because that’s the only thing that’s different.

Totally possible it is some ingredients in the hc. If he continues like he is and goes otj he won’t need it and you can see.
