Max is on his own today and he has had his insulin injection this morning. I will be 3 hours away and gone all day, so yes that makes me anxious, simply because Max doesn’t always do what’s expected and I am me. Nobody’s here to check on him today.
Not sure if we will make it back in time for his usual PMPS because it is my grand daughter’s 4th birthday party and some other family members are riding with us. I’ve moved his shot time 15 mins later for the last two times, to make it later when his PMPS will be due so maybe that will help.
It probably will not make any difference at all but I gave him a skinny dose of his 5.25 units this morning and I’m leaving him higher carb foods in his auto feeder today. If he runs high, that’s okay. Hopeful I can get him back on track soon.
I’m not as brave as others are with leaving him if he’s low, just because of my previous experiences (not Max). He will probably run high and my worry was for nothing. I’d rather be safe than sorry. I can get a +3 and maybe a +4 depending on when we leave, but then I absolutely have to go.
Leaving my worries at home, I hope.
