Yesterday's Condo

Willie is off to a promising start this morning. Lots of btb cuddles were had and he is now out in the garage searching for Mr. Mouse, who made another appearance in Willie's mouth last night. I had gone to bed and it was around 1am when I here a bonafide commotion elsewhere in the house, and jingling of Willie's collar is definitely part of the ruckus. In comes Willie with Mr. Mouse in his mouth. Thank heavens I turned on the light, because I'm pretty sure he was planning on bringing it into bed to show me. :shock: :shock: :shock: Mr. Mouse wasn't moving, and I wasn't sure if he was alive. This time, I was very calm and spoke to Willie soothingly, praising him for being such an awesome specimen of a cat. I managed to pick him up and keep Mr. Mouse in his mouth. We made it to the garage, where I got him to drop Mr. Mouse. I then threw him back in the house (with the pet door CLOSED), while I tried to scoop up Mr Mouse who was still alive and scared out of his wits. he ended up under the brick stairs going up to the kitchen. So I went inside, got a cracker and laced it with peanut butter, and opened the door from the garage to the patio just a bit, propping it with the glass recycle bin, and left the cracker on the door jam, and I went back to bed. I just checked, and the cracker is gone, so I'm hopeful that Mr. Mouse was smart enough to make an escape, and told all his little mouse friends to stay the heck out of dodge. Willie is out there inspecting every inch of the garage in the hopes of finding him. So help me, if he does.... :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil:

Not sure what is in store for today. I may hop in the car and drive an hour to an orchard that allegedly has honeycrisp apples. Or I may lay around and watch football all day. Today is city-wide garage sale day, so I think i'll get out here in a bit and check that out.

Way to go WilliePoo! YEAH MamaBean for savin' Mr. Mouse.

We have a 'mouse bucket' that our cats drop the mice in, mostly still alive. I take them outside into the big field behind me and let them go again. Outside babies - Scruffs, Spike, Noah, Ginger, Jake and Callie may play with them but they let them go when they're done. Luckily Ginger, Jake and Callie have other 'Owners' that feed them well also, they just hang out here. Your post just gave me an extra giggle this morning...

Oh jeez....a mouse in bed would not have been fun! Hopefully Mr. Mouse made his escape to freedom ;-) Good boy Willie for catching him and not killing him. Nice numbers for, Willie!

I iz definitely ready for some chillaxin....it was a really busy party day yesterday! Pool is open here if any kitties wanna swim! ~Zoe

Moonie never had or saw a mouse, nor did her brother, but they sure liked to play with the Fur ones :lol: :lol: :lol: --Guess it's just an instinct!

i'm trying to remember - is it willie that is toof-less? maybe that was another kitter that was gumming small critters . . .

and the real question is - did you have a camera in bed with you to video the special adventure? if you're a pro, that camera is at hand all the time so you can share the goofy things willie does with us!

glad mr mousie made an escape, at least we hope so! have fun garage-sailing!

Yes, indeed. Willie is the toothless, front clawless wonder mouser. And alas, I am not expert enough to get a video. while the cell phone WAS next to me, I was more concerned about making sure Willie didn't DROP the mouse again! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: My goodness, was he cross with me last night! He refused to come back to bed!

Oh that cracked me up visualizing Wille with the mouse in his mouth trying to bring it to bed at 1 am in the morning! So glad you rescued the mouse and hope he stays away. Your day sounds fun whatever you decide on the orchard or city-wide garage sale. Have a nice one, and Willie is looking good. They're still low blues.

OMG Willie!!! You caught that mouse?!?!?! So maybe you did learn a few things about mousing when you came over the other night...... you know what else is fun to catch at night while the bean sleeps? BATS!!! Maybe i can come over and help you find that mouse?

All hail Willie the Mighty Mouser! I've always been grateful since the move to CA that lizards are not nocturnal! But I do remember the baby rabbit at 3am in Minnesota. Yes, they DO scream! :shock:

Willie, thanks for coming to protect me! The noise is gone now , but I'm still a little nervous. I want to be w/ my friends! Wow on the mouser! I've never even seen one! -- Tess

Willie is a wonder!!! That is one pathetic mouse who can't get away from a clawless/toothless cat. If it's the same mouse that Willie caught before, he's no doubt the laughing stock of the mouse world right now!!

btw....Champ used to be allowed outside. I even taught him to come home when I whistled so I could get him to come in whenever I wanted to leave the house or go to bed. The last day he was allowed outside was the day he brought a bird into my house. I thought it was dead because when Champ dropped it on my living room floor it just laid there. I went and got a dustpan to scoop it up and as soon as I touched it, it flew off!!! Around my house!! In and out of rooms!! That damn bird played dead...how funny is that?!!! It ended up in my daughter's room and I was so freaked out that I just closed the door and called my younger sister to come get it out for me. She lives on a ranch and is used to all sorts of livestock so I figured she would wrangle this big bad bird out of the house for me. So she comes over, goes into my daughter's room, opens the window, takes off the screen, the bird flies out, and I stood there feeling stupid that I didn't think of that myself. :lol: :lol:

Ah, that's so sweet. ;-) Willie is helping his poor hunting beans with a present. One of our kitties, Stump, who has long GA, brought me a mouse on my birthday one year. He didn't wrap it, but then how would one gift wrap a mouse! Glad that Willie is on the prowl!

Hey Willie, you are a great mauser, and compassionate, too, for bringing the little rodent to your mamabean and then letting Mr. Mouse go on his way. Binks must be proud of you. I would like to catch the mouse in my cabin. I saw him last night and waited for him to come out again, but he didn't. Maybe next weekend! My mamabean says it's nice to hunt, but only with a camera. I don't have a camera. Do you?

Eeeks!! No snakes!!! We've dealt with geckos too... one of my favorite mental images is miss belle with a gecko in her mouth head first, with the legs coming out, all squirming! :lol: :lol: :lol: Mr. Mouse was actually kind of cute, but I suspect he was the only mouse that has been in Willie's possession, so yes, he's likely the laughing stock of the local mouse community!

Just got off the phone with DS and am officially paranoid. Apparently, her apartment building has bedbugs, and they are bringing in a bug-sniffing dog this week to check her unit, but her boyfriend has been saying that he's been getting bitten. I wish she would have told me this BEFORE I let her come over and do all of her laundry this week. there was tons of it and it hadn't been washed in awhile... so some sat unwashed in the basement for 24+hrs before she got it done. The last thing I need are bedbugs in my house! I know I probably upset her when I said this, but I told her no more laundry until it was taken care of... or at least she had to take more precautions... laundry stays in sealed plastic bags out of my house, car and garage until it is ready to go into the washer/dryer. The heat of the dryer kills larvae and live insects. Gah. Now i'm going to be bothered about this for days.
