Good Evening Everyone,

I lost my internet connection this morning, just as I was getting ready to post Stu's numbers, and then we had to leave for the canoe race. So now it is PMPS +2.5 and we are back at camp. It was an exhausting day, mainly because the weather was very windy, overcast, and quite cold. The paddlers really had some struggles on some of the waterways. There were quite a few capsizings. Our friend for whom we were the pit crew and another friend who paddled alongside him were on the course for over 8 hours. Day 1 is the longest day of the race, with 4 major lakes (= windy conditions), 5 carries, 7 smaller lakes, and 2 rivers. It was a challenge to say the least! Tomorrow has only 1 carry, but it is long and on a steep, rocky trail that parallels major rapids.
There is no place to meet our friend tomorrow (the route is not near any roads), so we have the day off and will go back home to be in place for the end of the race on Sunday. It's supposed to go down into the 30s tonight, but be sunny tomorrow. Sunday promises to be rainy.

Stu had a nice time at camp with his friends. They left the place in very good shape and I hope that they had fun. He may have dropped low today (PMPS is almost pink and may represent a bounce), but then again I may have given a poor shot this morning. It didn't feel right, and even though I didn't smell Lantus, it is possible that it was a fur shot.
So that's where we are. Stu thanks all his pals for keeping him company on this long day without his beans around.

Everyone have a good Friday evening. Back tomorrow sometime in the afternoon.

STu, thank you for having all of us over today. I just love sitting on your porches and relaxing. And your kitchen, wow, impressive! Everything was delish today of course, you outdid yourself cooking on home turf. I'm working on what you told me about getting green, thank you. -- Tess
