YESTERDAY'S CONDO:
viewtopic.php?f=9&t=124987

Max is not back on the roll he was on. Maybe this morning he is up from eating so late into the cycle with his numbers going down. Either his gel cap didn't sit well or all that grooming last night is causing him to try and vomit hair but he was unsuccessful. He didn't eat his baby food and I was worried as that is his pill chaser so I gave him a few pieces of fd turkey. He ate it but seems uncomfortable still.

The up and down cycle with my mom continues too. She was wheezing badly last night after I left and there are different orders as to what to do. Hopefully the heart valve is not worse from the infection. Even when her docs are on duty you get the hospitalists giving orders. The old days were so much better before hospitalists came on the scene. Prayers please.

(((Elise))))

I'm at work but had to pop in and let you know that I'm thinking of you and your mom and sending lots of prayers. My father-in-law was hospitalized two years ago for sepsis, so I can relate a little bit to what you're going through right now. It was an uphill battle to get things settled down, but he recovered and is doing well now, thankfully.

Re: 9/10 MAX AMPS 164

I hope Max gets back on his roll soon. Nice AMPS to start the day.

Sending lots of healing white light and vines for your mom. And hugs to you too. :YMHUG: :YMHUG: Sorry about the too many cooks in the kitchen scenario at the hospital.

Re: 9/10 MAX AMPS 164

I know what you mean about how difficult it is to maintain control and get straight answers in the medical industry these days. Sending tons of prayers for your Mom, and I hope Max is feeling better by now, too.

Re: 9/10 MAX AMPS 164

Shelly, we lost my healthy at the time dad to sepsis. He was a type 2 diabetic that was not on insulin and the doctors missed it. I'm glad that your father in law recovered. My mom's was caught but we are worried about what a toll it placed on her heart and she isn't bouncing back yet. Thanks for the prayers Shelly and Wendy.

Max has not eaten since his attempt to vomit and getting his insulin and is laying on my bed. It's over an hour now and I am getting worried about him as well. He did eat a few pieces of the fd turkey so hopefully his BP gel cap got through. I hate to bother him so will wait a little longer to test his BG.

Re: 9/10 MAX AMPS 164+2/184

The +2 is not a food spike as he hasn't eaten. I got him to eat some fd turkey. UPDATE; Not only did he eat but he ate both the baby food and the cat food just now. I wonder how that will effect his BG as it is +2.75. It will be interesting but I really don't care. I'm just glad that he ate.

So I guess once the insulin kicks in they don't get a food spike? Now I hope he surfs nicely now.

Max ate! Yeah. Now kiddo, how 'bout some safe surfing. Please.

Elise just sending hugs, light, vines, prayers. You have so much stress to deal with. Breathe. Deeply.

So glad he finally ate. I'm guessing he had started to drop and the reflex to eat kicked in . Hope he will surf for you now and feel better.

Sending many healing vines and lots of prayers for your DM. Hugs to you! :YMHUG: :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Re: 9/10 MAX AMPS 164+1.75/184+3/112+4/78+5/73+6/70

Thanks Marilyn and Tricia. I think you must be right Tricia as lately he is often not as hungry until +2 at least. I think it might also have to do with how late I need to feed him at night. If he continues to eat so much he will be 17 pounds before I know it. He just can't afford to gain any more weight.

He seems to be surfing but I guess I better stick around for at least another 50 minutes to make sure he doesn't drop again.

I'm glad Max finally ate for you. I hope he's feeling better and he surfs safely the rest of the day. Sending more prayers for your mom. :YMHUG: :YMHUG:

Re: 9/10 MAX AMPS 164+1.75/184+3/112+4/78+6/70+7/67PMPS 212

Thank you Carla. It seems like he got hungry when his BG started to drop, not that it was that high. I also think the fur he ingested had something to do with the lack of appetite.

I was a little concerned to leave him with a BG of 67, but he was surfing and he doesn't seem to go down much after a +7 when surfing. I thought I might come home to a high green or low blue but I guess his pancreas got tired of working. I hope this isn't the start of a bounce but rather that he comes down a bit and surfs blue tonight. Another thought, I left out some 5% when I left and have no idea when he ate it. When I left he wasn't at all interested.

My mom seemed pretty good tonight again when I left but the last few nights I get phone calls that she isn't doing as well a few hours later. I'm hoping again that tonight will be different and she will continue to improve.

Sending more vines for your mom! I'm glad Max ended up eating this morning. I hope he has a nice night and comes back down for you (but not too fast).

Re: 9/10 MAX AMPS 164+1.75/184+3/112+4/78+6/70+7/67PMPS 212

Hi Elise,

I'm glad to read that Max's inappetence was short lived. I think Tricia's suggestion that he started to feel hungry when his numbers started to go down totally makes sense. More prayers and vines for you and your DM. Your poor mom (and poor you!) can seem to catch a break. Make sure you remember to take care of yourself too!

Hopefully Max takes it easy tonight. Remember, if he is bouncing, it's an opportunity for a break. Maybe he senses you need a break and is going to oblige.

Hugs and prayers for you, Max, your DM, and your family!

Thanks, Deanna, but it looks like a bounce.

Thanks for reminding me about the advantage of a bounce night, Jen.
