9/10 Belle AMPS: 95, +3: 83, +10: 101, PMPS: 101, +3: 88

Good morning, Amanda. I don't think you should have taken a reduction but I maybe I missed something. Belle looks good. Those blues are so low. Must drive you nuts but I would take them any day. :)

Didn’t get a response about dose reduction last night so I went ahead with the .25 again this morning
I will tag @tiffmaxee for her advice.

It varies based on our work schedule. She always has food during the day and we leave food at night. We have automatic feeders on the way but I do think our feeding schedule probably has something to do with her random blues. I cannot physically get up at 330 am to feed her in the middle of the night or make sure that she doesn’t eat for those three hours before her shot. It’s almost always impossible to feed her at +9 before her PM dose. The Catmate feeders are scheduled to be here in under 2 weeks

Sorry I never got back. There was an emergency on main and I forgot. Try the reduction tonight. Congrats. :D

No worries at all :) we’re all fine over here. I honestly haven’t noticed much of a difference in the blues from the 0.1 to 0.25. They’re obviously still floating around! Do some cats go off insulin all together and still have blues every so often? I know normal ranges but I guess I’m wondering if the fear is that reducing or trialing OTJ could stress her pancreas out enough that she would start to go super high again? Sorry I’m not very articulate in my question asking lol

You are totally articulate. Some cats do have occasional low blues going otj but go down to green 3-4 hours after eating. That’s where the +8-9 snack is given also. Belle’s blues are almost green. We have noticed how regardless of the dose at .25 or 0.10 she looks the same. If she looks the same in .10 after a week I think we try a drop dose and see. You want a strong remission so we are extra cautious but if she’s not ready to go off her numbers will rise at some point. That’s why the baby steps. Did I answer your question? I am not sure.

Absolutely! Thank you, makes perfect sense :) I’m hoping those numbers will improve with the automatic feeder and being more accurate with feeding times

No you need 7 days past that 158 of almost all green. The +9 snack I hope will do it. Let’s see what happens now. Maybe it will work. If you see more blue you can take her right back up.

Sorry. Then I read he’s not getting the +9 and you ordered the feeder. I was honestly on the fence on what to do. It is true that the numbers are the same regardless of the dose. Let’s see I hope it takes.

Would it be okay actually if we went back to the .25 and see what numbers look like when the feeders get here? I’m in no rush

Yes. He’s not running too low so it can’t hurt him. If he drops under 50 then you reduce again. So far he’s been good and not too low.
