A 240-point drop....that's new. I'm pretty sure this is in retaliation to me having to clean his butt earlier tonight.
All kidding aside, I honestly didn't think much follow-up testing was necessary after a near-pink PMPS reading. He usually maxes out at no more than 150 points between the high and the low. So the 44 is as much a surprise as it is unexpected (even double checked it just to be sure). Looks like I won't be headed off to bed just yet.

I intervened with some HC gravy & a little karo at both +9 and +9.5. It must've kicked in because he jumped to 67 at +10. I'll probably stay up for another hour or so and get a couple more tests in to make sure he's maintaining or rising without the benefit of food, then turn him over to OH.

Well, I may have overdone it with the intervention now that we're surpassing 100. Either that, or he was beginning his natural rise when I stepped in, only to accelerate it. I'll check him one more time before handing him off.
Jenks doesn't have a history of holding reductions well. And he's probably going to bounce hard off of this. So I think I'm going to hold him at 5.5U and follow the 3x under 50 rule. This should give us more time to evaluate how the new diet variety is going to play out, rather than changing two variables (dose and food) at once and trying to figure out which one is causing a change.
