I don't know why her glucoses are going back up. Instead of lactulose she is getting Metamucil (psyllium husk & gelatin) are the only ingredients. Could that be it? I missed her bupre yesterday morning because I was at work.

Anyone in Dorian path please be safe. It's a CAT 5 now.

Bottle doesn't say that though. I have the 3 in 1 it only has 2 ingredients psyllium husk and gelatin.

Some of the Metamucil does have sugar supposedly this one does not. So I don't know.

If pumpkin, isn't working with miralax and I can't use metamucil, nor lactose but sparingly what am I suppose to do to keep her from getting constipated
 
You're using cisapride?
I thought the miralax was helping?
What about using only the lactulose? I don't remember what the issue was with the lactulose and why you stopped it. I do know when I gave it to our civvie Allen I had to give two half doses instead of one full dose because a full dose tended to make him quite uncomfortable and give him gas :oops::eek:

ETA: maybe contact the company next week and find out for sure whether there is any kind of sweetener in the one you're using?

Yes on cisapride. Was on lactulose 2.5 ml in morning and miralax 1/4 tsp in evening. Was doing well with that. Last week when I took her to wrong vet because of black mucous watery stools the were very stinky he said it was more colon irritation and probably anal glands that popped, because at that time he said the glands seemed newly cleaned out. So he said stop the lactulose and give fiber caps (he said in any pet store) and continue miralax. He said psyllium husk was ok since I had it. She is going but I don't know if the Metamucil has caused the glucose to rise. Although it started to rise when I took her in. So it could be anal glands related. I have glandex coming next week with chewy order. If it is the Metamucil what would I use to keep her moving? If not why glucoses going up?

Although her numbers support more insulin, she was okay on 5.25 units, maybe I should have kept her there longer? Is it possible 5.5 is to much???

I don't know what the problem is.......
 
Looks like she was on lactulose for quite a while before the black watery stools the other day so I'm not sure I would blame the lactulose. If the anal glands popped would that cause the black watery stools (I have no experience with this)?

I do see more pinks and fewer greens on her ss these last few days so I think the metamucil might be the culprit. I was told once that you can purchase psyllium husk on its own at a bulk food place so perhaps try that?

How is her appy?
