Anyone successfully use topical flea treatments with their diabetic cats? My guys are due for their treatment, but I don’t want it to influence Oscar’s numbers. Advantage or Revolution or one of those?

Hi Andrea, if you add a part of your question to the title (say "Flea treatments?"), you might get more eyes on your post.

I've used the Indian equivalent of Revolution on Bandit for mites. I did see a spike in numbers for a day or so, but not longer than that.

@Kathy and tiger has used both Advantage and Revolution on Tiger.

Oh good thinking. Will do next time. Alright. I don’t treat them super regularly, but they’ve both been pretty itchy so I suspect it’s time. Should I use an alternate injection site since it gets applied to the scruff?

Hi Andrea,
Advantage Multi works well for fleas and has milder side effects in my opinion than Revolution. For ear mites though, the Revolution works better.

Thank you, Kathy! That’s what I’ve got so I’ll get than on him right away. to Tiger too! He’s gorgeous. Now we just need Oscar’s numbers looking like his and we’ll be all set!

I'm going to say he went to blue at +4 and bounced from there!
Btw, his nadir is not always +6 so you can mix it up. Get some tests at +4 and +5 instead of +6. Newly diagnosed cats can bounce 100 points in an hour!

I can definitely do that. He’s still pretty low this morning. Lower actually than at +6, so maybe he did.
