Yesterday was a whole lotta blues with one yellow blip/bouncette during the day.

8/8 Recap:
AMPS 117 +3.5 229 +8 155
PMPS 123 +3.5 175 +9 109

I do love a good blue start to the day. :-D Neko is in her usual fine form. Breakfast plates are spotless (Theo always gets a hand in this task), she's had a couple brief sniff sessions outside and she's back in front of Otto waiting for +2 snack. Neko actually found the box to pee in today - we had a couple intentional misses yesterday. We've had a bit of that this week, so off to vetty tomorrow. It's time to go anyway, because it's our one year post SRT anniversary and time for regular blood work and thyroid check. I'll get urinalysis/C&S done too.

So August 9, 2012 was the last of three days of the stereostatic radiation treatments on Neko's pituitary tumor. It was definitely worth it and I see signs the tumor is dying off. I just noticed today something that has gone missing. For the longest time, Neko would make a teeth grinding noise when I was prepping her fuds. She' even occasionally do it during the test before the fuds. I don't remember when it went away, I just haven't heard it for a while. I think that's all part of her not being so anxious for food. The excess growth hormones put out by the acro tumor can cause acrocats to be even hungrier. Put together an unregulated acrocat, and watch out!

It's another sunny warm day here - probably means more house painting for me. Wishing everybody a good Friday. Sending healing vines out to those that need it, including Marje's DM.

Completely OT: Things were abuzz at our boathouse for this morning's row. 6 of our colleagues are rowing at the World Master's Games in Turin, Italy and so far one lady has got a gold metal :-D :-D and our men's quad came fourth in the finals. Not bad when the goals were to not embarrass themselves in the heats with no expectations of making the finals. There are still 2 more days to go.

Re: 8/9 Neko AMPS 150 - SRT Anniversary

What a great report. Good luck to the rowing team. Wishing them fantastic success. Being there is an honor. I'm a swimming mom and grandmom.

Re: 8/9 Neko AMPS 150 - SRT Anniversary

What a wonderful report...I can't believe it has already been a year! Very nice start for Neko today, and soooo exciting about the rowers!!!

Re: 8/9 Neko AMPS 150 - SRT Anniversary

Congratulations on the 1 year anniversary! Pepper just passed the 7 week mark. Congrats to the rowing team too!

Re: 8/9 Neko AMPS 150 - SRT Anniversary

Wow Wendy, a whole year already? I'm so happy for you and Neko. :-D

My congrats to the rowing team too. :-D

Re: 8/9 Neko AMPS 150 - SRT Anniversary

That's wonderful Neko is doing so well since the SRT. I hope you get good results from the b/w and other tests. That's great on the rowing team. How cool.

Re: 8/9 Neko AMPS 150 - SRT Anniversary

Hi Wendy and Neko,
Congrats, Neko, on your first Anniversary! It is so good to read how well you are doing. Carry on!!!

Wendy, I hope that the vetty visit will go well and that all is tip top with Neko.

Fabulous news about your rowing buddies' successes in Turin!

Have a fine weekend,

Hugs & scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 8/9 Neko AMPS 150 - SRT Anniversary

Hi Wendy,

I'm so glad Neko is doing well :-D Hoping everything checks out great at the vet too!

Re: 8/9 Neko AMPS 150 PMPS 184

+3.5 286 +9 218 PMPS 184
Another typical Neko daytime inverse curve. I forgot to mention the funny thing with the rowing results. One of the guys (a lawyer in his 50's) got called over to doping control.  He's never going to live that one down.

@Barbara - Neko is doing so much better. :-D Wish I could be in Turino to cheer them on, but it's great that some of the people we row with are doing so well. We're all mighty proud of them.

@Amy - Yes, that year has gone fast. Neko's doing a lot more blue starts instead of red now. I wish they had the rowing on TV, I'd be watching.

@Nancy - It can take a while to see change after SRT. I saw dose changes but not the behaviour/physical ones until later. It's worth it!

@Barb - It's hard to believe it's been a year since the great road trip. So glad we don't have to repeat that again! Not sure that me practicing with the team helped them win, but who knows.

@Carla - I do like seeing the positive change. We'll probably have high glucose tomorrow if Neko follows her usual pattern. Maybe one day I could dream of going to the Master's Games too. I can hardly wait to see the gold medal.

@Ella - Thanks on the anniversary. She's a year better. :-D Vetty visit is routine, but we have to keep an eye on the thyroid as that's a possible side effect of the radiation. Our team mates are doing better than we and they were hoping for. :-D

@Susan - The last vetty visits have gone well. She's not showing any signs of anything off, so paws crossed it's a good visit.

@Rhiannon - Without the SRT, I don't want to think about where Neko would have been at this time, so we celebrate the year for many reasons.

@Josie - Thanks on the anniversary. Maybe I should give Neko a special treat tonight to celebrate.

@Linda - Thanks - hoping is all smooth as anything tomorrow. Should be a quick in and out at the vet.

Nice blues to start, keep it up Neko!

OT: Wow on the rowing! There is nothing like doping control. I was in Torino in 2006 for the Winter Paralympic Games. Lovely city and best of all - the home of Nutella!

+4 197

Thanks Anne - she listened to you! Looks like another night of blue surfing. :-D Nutella, that explains why they are doing so well! Coach always recommends it as a pre race snack.

Wendy,
Happy anniversary! So awesome that Neko is doing better. Also good to hear her teeth grinding has stopped!

Happy house painting.
