Yesterday Neko was a good girl, blue all day.

No PJ part last night like Elise mentioned, but instead it was Theo that kept us up late. He escaped outside last night. He's semi-feral, I saw him several times but he kept on running. He did this once last year and we managed to herd him inside. Not this time. He's still missing - any spare "come home" vines are appreciated. Sorry Neko, a condo hijack.
Poor Neko got consigned to the back bedroom so we could keep the house doors open for Theo in case he wanted in, but at the same time keep Neko inside overnight. I put her memory foam bed there so she was happy enough until just before breakfast. First thing this morning she was out helping me look for him. Well, maybe it meant finding a blade of grass or two. I'm hoping that seeing/hearing her will draw him back. He hasn't eaten this AM but if I leave food out for him, Neko will probably get it. I don't think she's missed having him around. :roll:
The beans best laid plans have been disrupted. We had to skip rowing - lack of sleep. I might have to cancel seeing my parents. Theo's kind of a one person cat and that person is me. DH won't be able to lure him when he's outside. He's such a different cat outside than inside.

A short while ago DH went outside to start working on a rowing shell and yelled at me upstairs - "bring Theo's food". I quickly rushed downstairs with breakfast - thank goodness it was kangaroo his favorite. He was hanging around the bushes at the front of the house. Originally I called him but that made him more skittish so I just stayed quiet. Then I got DH to get a ceramic food bowl, spoon, and can of the good stuff. Not sure what did it, but he got over his fear and approached. Then sauntered in the side door without eating. :roll: We quickly closed the open doors. Other than being famished, he's not acting any different. Last time he was out a year ago (for 3-4 hours not overnight) he hid under the bed for a while. This time he was rubbing on DH's knee, rolling and exposing his tummy and now he's giving himself a very satisfied bath. Even Neko had to sniff him the once over and normally she could care less about him. Maybe she really does care just a tiny bit. :lol: I went to do that +3 test, shaking the treats bag and Theo came running. I can't count how long I was shaking that bag outside last night and this morning with no sign of him. :roll: I also had his litter box outside so he could smell "home". And I'd just pressed Print on the Lost Cat poster when he showed up. :lol:
