Good Morning World! Welcome to our home! Last Condo

KT
AMPS 305

KT's AMPS has food in it but I was hoping we'd ditched those 300's...not quite yet. He doesn't look like he's feeling well altho' he's eating well. I finally confirmed a suspicion I've had for a while - Fancy Feast is giving him the diarrhea AND upsetting Dakota's stomach. I only buy Chicken pate and Chopped Grill. It's not a single batch, it's all of it. This has been happening for a while now but I couldn't figure out what it was. I don't buy a lot as it's much more expensive than Friskies - they'd both have some for 3-4 days then have to finish the week on Friskies. The only way I figured it out this time was already suspecting it then carefully watching what happened each time. Every time we get explosive runny poop from KT. He's not had any in 2 days, last night's and today's poops were perfect. They were perfect last week's end until I bought some Monday. No more FFeast for da sugarboyz. That was their 'treat' food - guess it wasn't so great of a treat after all.

OH LOOK!!! A wonderful AMPS for extra sweet RockDoc! He did a HUGE nosedive last night - from 469 to 142 in 7 hours. That's WAY too steep again so I imagine he's going to bounce big time. He woke me up wanting food so I knew what was happening....fed him at 4am which is likely what stopped the dive from going further. He feels so awful when he's having to sit on that bouncy ball.

Update on my dad - he's now refusing food, water, meds...he's telling everyone he's ready to go since no one will take him home. I get to see him for the first time in 2 weeks this afternoon but DM warned me he's still ranting and acting badly. I'm not sure if this is going to be a good visit or a bad one. I'm excited on one hand, dreading it on the other. The 'good' nursing home for 'mental' patients sort of shut the door in DM's face yesterday after they found out that another nursing home was also called by the hospital. She's heartbroken. She is filing paperwork today for guardianship which gets around the POA that she doesn't have. There's no problem with her getting it, it's just going to take time which the current hospital doesn't like. I imagine he'll REALLY act up and still refuse everything when he has to go from there into a nursing home instead of 'home'. When his brain was still lucid, this is what they decided but with his 'Parkinson's brain' now, he doesn't remember it. Thoughts and prayers definitely needed.

BIG HUGS to all that visit today!

Hugs for you and your mom, it can be so hard in these situations. I wouldn't say that that nursing home was the good one if they treated your mother that way for merely looking at another home.

OK, Doc, you don't need to bounce do you? Show ole Mr. Liver how to handle drops.

I hope your visit to your father went as well as it could go and that your mom will not have any more problems with the nursing home, paperwork, etc. etc. I know how difficult all of this is, having been through it with my aunt.

Many hugs to you and your mom.

Too bad about the Sugarboyz reactions to FF. Do those flavors have fish or beef in them (both common allergens)? I have to be very careful with Rusty because he is allergic to both fish and beef. I really have to read the labels carefully. Even the FF "chicken" has fish in it. The only FF I feed him is Turkey & Giblets Classic. He loves it.

Thanks for the visits Ann and Ella!

Visit with Dad went fairly well, he didn't always make sense but he wasn't upset. It's hard to find something to talk about when he can't remember what the subject is after a few words. He also has really bad hearing - the visiting room is the cafeteria with terrible accoustics. Of course he wanted us to go get his stuff so he could go home with us....dat's hard...

HUGS!!!
