Jupiters oncologist appointment is on Monday. I am really really nervous! Its a 2 hour drive and I am not sure how he will do in the car for that long. He doesnt like being in the car and we have never had him in the car for that long. They said the consultation will take 1 hr. They said any tests he may need - could take several hours depending on how many pets are there needing testing done. They said he could end up being there until 5pm. And then another 2 hour ride home!!! I am so worried about how he will do.

I gave Jupe .25ml of Bupe 1 hr before I wanted to do bandage change
He did great with the bandage change! I did it by myself and he laid there and didnt bite me or growl or scratch... nothing... he even purred most of the time! and since he was so still... I got it on good so I think it will stay on well!

It didnt take long. It went on perfectly since he laid still. Hes happy. Im happy. Bandage change could not have went any better!

Once again, thank you for your support. You have all been so wonderful and I can never say thank you enough!

I have been so busy keeping an eye on Jupiter... watching him like a hawk... sure hope to catch up on some condos in the next few days.

Prayers for Gobbles/Kat that the bump is just a bug bite and nothing serious. Also prayers for Alexis's Nikki.

I have got to add, he is acting a little weird tonight... Like really tired... he hasnt moved from bed since bandage change(5 hours ago) ... I tried to get him to walk but he just lays back down. I dont know.. maybe hes just really tired? Its worrying me! I brought him his food into bed and he is eating

not sure if this could maybe be from him not eating enough or something?

Hi Jamie

So glad Jupe gave you an easy bandage change! Maybe if you give him a little of his pain med before the car ride it will mellow him out a bit? Sounds like it will be an all day affair, hopefully with a great outcome. Good traveling vines coming your way!

Jane

Try getting him to play with something, have you tried rescue relief they say it works so you can travel with your pets, mine don't mine the car rides. I'm glad you were able to change bandage by yourself, I hope Jupe feels better her number looks good.Try and get some rest.

I agree with what Jane suggested. Maybe you can give Jupe a small amount of Bupe for the ride on Monday?

Great news on the bandage change!! Maybe his wound is finally starting to heal and feel better, so he's not fighting you so much! The bupe has to be keeping him more comfortable too!

You have such a great new vet...Why not try calling tomorrow and asking if there's anything he'd suggest to keep Jupiter calm during the drive? Can't hurt to ask!

Good luck to you! Been worrying about you both since you hadn't posted a new condo lately

I spray Feliway in the carrier and sprinkle a little catnip of the bed and Izzy just hangs out. But she has always been a pretty good traveler. The extra stuff makes Me feel betther though :)

If you can get him to play for a bit before you need to go, it'll help tire him out and may keep him calmer.

Hi Jamie. Wonderful report on the bandage change. Glad that he is eating, that's a good sign.

Have a great day Jamie.

I'm glad you were able to get the bandage changed without a fight from Jupiter. He might just be worn out from everything. He's been going through a lot. Sending prayers for the vetty visit and for you to have a safe trip.

Pat yourself on the back after that bandage change! Better yet, have a piece of chocolate or a glass of wine! :-D Hoping the mellow mood is just the Bupe making him feel good. Sending good car ride vines and good vetty vines to you and Jupe!

Hi Jamie,

Ditto what everyone else said re. tips for travelling - can't think of anything new to add there.

The bupe could be making Jupiter more tired, he could just be pretty konked out. He's eating, and that's a positive sign. I'd keep that as a mental note & see if he perks up near the end of the dosing run.

Glad the bandage change went so smoothly - what a relief for you! Sending you calming, healing & positive vines for tonight & tomorrow's vet trip. Much good news is deserved!

Hi Jamie! Glad to hear the bandage change went so well. :-D I'll be thinking about you guys Monday and hoping for an easy and safe travel day! :YMHUG:
