Not understanding these huge bounces at shot time. We are getting decent nadirs but PS is horrible. What could be causing this? Could his UTI be back? we were supposed to take him today to get an xray but the vet had a family emergency and had to leave. So will go next week. I am just not getting it.

I think this bounce is just because of how far Doogle dropped. He didn't go "green" but he did drop 450 points today.

I completely understand the frustration with the numbers, but I don't know how to "fix it".

Is/was he on ABs for the UTI?

That's what Sienne told me earlier about China too....since she'd dropped 200 points from AM to PM, her body reacted like she'd dropped too low and panicked.

That's a lot of points to drop so quickly so I hope Doogle is just being hard to predict, and isn't having more problems with his UTI!!

I also think he might still be bouncing from last night. I've seen cats start to clear a bounce but then go back up. It's possibly a delayed release of counterregulatory hormones. The liver releases some and the pancreas does, too.

I'd just wait until he clears it totally and see where he is.

Well I was pretty certain it is a bounce but he is bouncing alot lately since dealing with the DKA 2 weeks ago and the blockage a week ago. I know we fur shot the other day and I think he got a partial also (he was so wiggly couldnt keep him still). I will hopefully be able to get a ketone test in. I guess I am just paranoid.
