Good Morning, LL
This morning's shot was the 4th cycle. I'm suspecting that we will have to go up in dose again.

WCR: Blackie was very affectionate this morning and seems to be feeling good. He ate really well and all P's were in place.

Hey Blackie! Come on down dude - pink is really an ugly color. Please, or your bean says you will get more juice. I may too - my bean was mumbling again about not enough blues and so few greens.... oh oh! See you at Trey's party? ~~ Mannie

Re: 8/9 Blackie amps 389

Hope Blackie comes down in numbers, but the good news is he's feeling good, that's the most important thing.

Ele --

Is there any chance that Blackie has an inflammation or infection brewing? When was her last dental? Any chance of a UTI? It looks like her numbers were better when she was on the AB.

I've been thinking the same thing, Sienne. Blackie never shows any symptoms of a UTI, so I only suspect it when his bg's get out of control. He's due for more bloodwork next week. Maybe I should take some urine in this week and see what's up.

That sure is ugly man! UGH!
Blackie, is your Mama as upset as mine with that ugly color?
Oh wow man, I do hope you can bring that down....I got a dental
cause I had such ugly numbers. Watch out man!
They are looking at you! :o

See you later at Trey's', right?

Ugh, Ele, I really feel for you with these numbers. Poor guy can't seem to catch a break lately. I hope the BW yields some answers, or that a dosecrease works magic. :YMHUG:

As far as taking urine in to the vet, there's a relevant discussion about that in Ella's condo today. As Sienne mentioned over there, the only "clean" way to do a urine sample is for the vet to take it via needle (cystocentesis). Otherwise there could be contaminants in the sample from anything: the container, the catching utensil, the air, etc. Additionally, the very best way to get the results is to get a culture & sensitivity (C&S) BEFORE starting ABs. An AB will render the u/a inconclusive, and if you get the C&S done, you will know that you are treating the infection which Blackie actually has, not just guessing at what it might be and possibly giving the incorrect AB.

It's more expensive, of course, and the wait for the results from a C&S is typically longer (AFAIK, it almost always has to be sent out to grow, unless your vet has that capability in his office), but if you're looking to really cover all your bases and put any infection fears to rest, I feel that's the way to go.

At last he has come down out of the reds, you can go further Blackie. Yellow looks so nice on you.

Good luck on the blood work Ele. I hope it gives you some answers.
