Goooooodddddd Monday Morning!!! Sending out healing vines to Rocket today and any other sweet kitties who need them.

Gracie, with Mike at the food healm, had a very lovely :mrgreen: :mrgreen: surfing cycle last night. Gracie LOVES to speed down and we've found if we want to try and keep her at a dose, we have to slow her down on the way down instead of let her get low and bring her up. Our cutoff is anything more than a 50 mg/dl drop an hour gets a little extra attention. We decided to try the honey one more time and she only got 2 small fingertips at +2.5 and that put her up on her surfboard. I think the bounce may have started but keeping paws crossed. This morning after I tested her at +10, she sprawled out in the den on her back and purred away and let me give her LOTS of belly zerbicks. Of course, Tobey had to participate :lol: :lol: We've had some play time this morning, big purrs, pee, a nice LB prezzie, and she took a nice little bath while I was making everyone else's breffis. She is the image of patience while the other cats are getting fed.

Work at home for me today until I have to pick up my coworker from CA who is staying here tonight. I am rethinking my retirement in light of the latest economy news and the stock market. My agency has offered me a flexible work schedule and that I can work whenever I want so I believe I will talk to them about working one 8-hour day a week. What this gets me is if the economy gets REALLY bad and the airline industry tanks, I can easily go back to work full-time. Yeah..working one day a week is not what I want to do and I won't make anymore than my pension BUT....it holds my job for me. We'll try it and see how it works.

standing where i am now (unemployed) i think if i had an option of 1 day a week - i'd take it. just because it really does keep your options open.

Sweet video! I was looking at the tile too, Julie, thinking "I really like that tile." Gracie is so sweet. She is looking good today and cleared those blues real fast.

I can understand working 1 day a week just to keep it out there. I don't get to think about any of that for a few years, but the economy is scaring the bejesus out of me.

Isn't this fun trying to work and catch her low numbers? She was at 42 @+2.5 and we gave her 10% and .5ml honey. Wow...the honey worked great last night. I'm beginning to see what Ann meant about it not being reliable or else Gracie just wants less juice. Holy smokes. Gave her more 10% and a little more honey. She's doing great...jumping in and out of her wastebasket like a crazy baby. :lol: :lol: Rechecking in 30.

i understand how you feel about retiring now, but it's a bummer having looked forwrd to it for so long.

Aww, what a cute video of Gracie and her mouse toy! I just want to pick her up and hug her! I was waiting for Tobey to jump in there for a minute! That's a great option of working one 8 hour day a week. I can understand considering the future and leaving it open so you could return to work if the situation arises. I can't believe how much Gracie drops so early, too! And the honey isn't quite doing it? That would send Mags skyrocketing. Hope she surfs some nice greens.

What a great video, Marje. I love the nice carpet all decorated with an assortment of nanners and toys.

I am sorry that you are having to consider working part time, but it does sound like a good idea to hold your job. I wish it were an option for me. I think it would be good to transition out of the workplace gradually. I'm with you on keeping fingers crossed for NO tanking of the airline industry :shock:

i look at grace's little string of green numbers and my first reaction is "grace is on a mission." and my second reaction is "and yet, she's an uncommitted missionary - keeps one foot out the door while she's working!"

After the initial low dive, it looks like she's having a lovely little surf!!! I love to see all blue and green on her...bout time little missy!!

I love the video!! I miss the days when Champ was young and liked to play with his toys. He was so much fun!!!! Now he's just old and creaky (just kidding, Champers!!).

BTW, do you remember which "By Nature" foods spiked her? Been meaning to ask you. Trix didn't seem to have any issues after she snagged Mario's the other day, but I've been kind of afraid to give it a genuine trial after you said it spiked Gracie...Thanks!

well, good luck with your decision on the retirement vs flex plan. I know too on the econ and the stock market and what these past few days have done to my retirement plan. :shock: :shock: not good... but I hope it will rebound sooner than late. time will tell.

Good luck figuring out the retirement question! I know several colleagues have been hoping they'd get a similar offer from my agency, but thus far, no luck. It's got to be hard... having mentally prepared yourself for the idea of being done, only to stick around.... even just one day a week.

Loved the video. Especially where she figures out that she should just grab the string to get the little mousie. She's a smart cookie. :lol:
