Yesterday's Condo

Snuggles and headbutts started the morning which was Gabby's way of telling me that the alarm was about to go off and that she'd like breakfast, thank you very much. The first part of the meal was quickly dispatched and Gabby made sure both Gizmo's and her bowl were shiny clean. Gizmo has taken to decorating the interior of the cubes with toys. (He quite literally will pick up a toy and very deliberately drop it inside of the cube.) At the moment, Gabby is quite busy moving toys out of the toy basket so they are in a big pile on the floor. She hasn't decided yet whether to climb into the basket or to just lay on top of or next to the toys.

Those cubes are endless fun! How wonderful that Gizmo brings his toys inside. When Stu is in his cube I will throw his mice in to him and he plays with them, but he doesn't bring them in there on his own. We moved one of the cubes upstairs to DH's study and Stu has begun to sleep in that cube at night. Last night we looked all over for him and then saw his head near the opening!

I love that gizmo carries toys into his cube! I looked up those cubes on amazon and I showed them to peter but we both agreed our girls would not use them ... but I can't believe how many kitties on here love them ... makes me want to order some!

what a cute report and gorgeous string of #'s for Gabby.
I think I'll have to invest in some of these cubes.

See what you stared Sienne? Raja only leaves her cube to eat. sigh! She uses both of them alternately. Best $10 I ever spent! :lol:

That's cute about the cubes. Emma doesn't really play like that anymore, but I remember those days. :smile: Nice start to do the day Gabby - now don't get any lower!

Lots of testing going on this morning. So, here's the on-going summary. Gabby was getting gravy on top of her LC from +1 through +4 to prevent her numbers from going too low. I did not want her to earn a decrease.

Very nice numbers today for Gabby. What are you feeding / when, to control her drops?

A short visit to the yellow floor and Gabby decided there's nothing of interest there. She's back to the blues. What a good girl. Maybe her liver is learning.

Curious about the cubes too! I know you posted way back, but could you tell us again? They sound like a hit. Do they replace the cardboard box desires?

They are nylon and you can velcro the 2 cubes together -- or not. The velcro strips come with the cubes. I bought them off of Amazon. Just search cat cubes. There's a photo in Gabby's condo from 7/28. They really like them.

And there's the reason for getting a before bed test! Gizmo has been pestering Gabby -- especially at around that +4 test. There had been considerable screaming, yelling and growling. Just because I'm a bit of a testaholic, I got the +5.5. That was a surprise. I guess it's really not a before bed test since I'll be staying up a bit.

(Gizmo just climbed in to the unused cube and swatted at Gabby. They're now pouncing at each other through the nylon. Despite being stressed out, Gabby has been holding her own, doing her share of instigating, and has been playing. She is clearly feeling good!)

I haven't been following real closely, but I know you are feeding to keep the drops under control. Are you going to feed the +5.5? even though it's late, that is some drop Gabby. She is doing so good!

I'm going to test in 30 min. to see what she's doing with the numbers. If she drops further, yes, Gabby will get a snack. I've been working to keep her above 50 and to flatten out the cycle. Front loading the cycle with food has helped as has trying to not allow big drops. At this point, the flatter the better.
