Chino last came down from a bounce on the PM cycle of 8/04. His BG was 113 at +8 and 114 at AMPS, so I suspected that I might've missed a late green nadir and decided to wait until he comes back down before making any dosing decisions. Tonight will be the 6th cycle since the possible missed green.

After the +2 spike last night, Chino's BG drifted down steadily through the rest of the cycle, leading me to believe he might come down this morning... but no such luck. Now he's either climbing the diving board, and this rise means that his BG is going to plummet on the next cycle... or his insulin needs continue to increase, and we'll be going up to 13.5 units tomorrow morning.

The little asshole pissed on the couch again. WHILE I WAS CHECKING HIS BG. It was the same spot he pissed on the night of 8/4, though I'd soaked it with Nature's Miracle Just For Cats Advanced Formula, which had worked well when I last had to use it on the same spot in FEBRUARY. I shoved him through the cat door to the patio where the litterboxes are while I soaked the stain again, but he didn't use either of them because he came back in while I was preparing their food and PISSED ON THE FLOOR by the front door!!! So he got to eat his dinner out by the litterbox. I gave him a bowl of water but I've blocked the door and he's not coming back in until the cover has been washed and dried.

Until just a second ago, I had forgotten about that magic litterbox fairydust I bought on Wendy's recommendation. I had added a little to both litterboxes when this happened back in February. Going to add some now... and he's not coming back in until I see him use it.

He finally peed in the litterbox. But the couch cover just went into the dryer, and the cushions are still too wet to flip. Brought him some cold water in the meantime and will let him back in at +2 if things don't finish drying before that time.

:joyful: LOL!

Sorry about the couch, though. I hope he doesn't send you signals about something being wrong with him - you know how it's like with them and pee business. Perhaps it his way to let you know how fed up he is with ear pokes?;)

+2 = 317. I can't remember the last time he dropped 100 mg/dL in the first 2 hours. I'm probably going to stack boxes on the couches tonight to keep him off of them, and I'm going to start testing him on the floor from now on. I couldn't flip the cushions. He already ruined the other side of 2 of them when he emptied a full diabetic bladder on them while I was away at a conference in February... and I bought these couches last December. :banghead:

PMPS = 415 (3rd meal LC 3%)
[13 units Lantus, 6th cycle since last potentially unobserved green nadir]
+2 = 317
+4 = 176 (4th meal LC 3%)

If he keeps dropping by 70 mg/dL/hr, he'll be close to 100 at +5. So the next check will be at +5.

+5 = 118

The meal slowed him down just enough to make me wish I'd gone to bed and set an alarm for a +6 instead. Now I'm staying up for a +6, at which time I'll feed HC 20%, see where he is at +7, then feed enough HC to keep him safe until +9 so I can get 2 hours of sleep before the next check. Since I let Chino back inside, he's been hanging out on his "bed" (a flattened paper bag right outside my bedroom door). I've piled boxes on the couches to keep him off. If I have to block the couches until the day he dies, so be it, because if he does it again, that will be his last day on Earth. I sprayed his bag (bed) with Feliway and will continue to do so for the next several days. Hoping it makes a difference.

+6 = 79 (3 tsp MC 12%)

Since he slowed down with no intervention, I gave MC instead of HC. Staying up for a +7, then feeding more or less of the same, depending on the result, and going to bed until +9.

Next check at +9.

He's punishing you with a long, green, no sleep night because you put boxes on the couch. Hope he starts to climb for you soon. (The BG ladder, not the couch.)
