Oh, Ravannnnnn.....That's Luci calling from way out in the lagoon... won't you come and play with me today? I'm a bit wobbly on my surfboard since it's been so long since I've been out here...come and hold my paw, huh?

Sending good vibes your way for Peggy Sue - hope Ravan gets back away from the beach and back along the shore - but personally I'd be thrilled with that nice easy low blue.

Have a good day JoyBee!

Sending good vibes your way for Peggy Sue -

I found info about a method of injecting chemo directly into the tumor to shrink it. I could not find any vet (including mine) that was willing to try this.

My Vet just called & said he has information how to give the Chemo by injection into the tumor. I'm hoping this works to shrink the tumor & buy us more time!

Lot of prayers & good vibes for Peggy Sue ,PLEASE !

I'm keeping Ravan at a bit higher BG to see if it will help with his eating. And it has! He's been eating much better since his BG went into blue. I read some cats feel nauseated when their BG is too low.

Ravan just about stopped eating when he was in the lower Green #'s.

Now the trick is to keep him sailing along in Blue but not too high! :D

I'm so glad your vet got back with you and is willing to try the chemo injections. How soon will she start? You may want to ask for a prescription for ondansetron (not sure I spelled that right) in case it makes her nauseous. It is something you can get filled at a human pharmacy. Sending prayers.

Nice start for Ravan.

How soon will she start?

As soon as he gets the compounded Chemo. Friday or Monday. From what I read when the carboplatin mixed in purified sesame oil is injected into the tumor it usually doesn't affect the cats in any way. The oil keeps the chemo basically in the tumor & very little gets absorbed into the body.
If she get nauseated I'll try something natural before I 'd give her pharmaceuticals. That's only as a last resort.

I'm so afraid she might not even make it thru the anesthesia! She's very thin.

Thank you for prayers We need all the help we can get! :):bighug::bighug::bighug:

That's always a good idea, but you may want to ask for the prescription to have it on hand in case you need it. You don't have to get it filled and then if you need it you won't have to wait to get it from the vet.

Happy to hear that Ravan's appy is better!
Green or blue, the important thing is that the cat feels good!

Also happy to hear that you may have found a treatment for Peggy Sue!

This is awesome. So great to hear that your vet said no, then went back and did the research!! Sending all our best your way!

Tons and tons of vines for Peggy Sue! I'm so happy your vet has done an about face and is willing to at least try. We're rooting for you and Peggy Sue!
Also happy that Ravan is eating again! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Just as a suggestion, why play “catch up” if the chemo makes her nauseous. I’d check with the vet and see if you can give ondansetron before hand. At this point, if a medication vs something natural can keep her comfy, why not?
