The hubby forgot to put the dog food up when he went to bed last night. Since the dog sleeps with us and the bowl was empty this morning, the cats definitely ate it. :(

Mona's BG was 137 at testing time. I fed her her normal LC food and tested her at +1 when I left for work. It was already down to 124 an hour after eating her regular food, so obviously the carbs from the kibble were being processed out faster than the LC food was making her rise! I suppose that's a good "test" of her pancreas again, but I don't like that it keeps having to work like this!

We're going to try a totally new feeding routine for the dog to try to keep this from happening. He's always been free-fed though, so it's requiring yet another change to our overall routines, just when we though OTJ would be saving us some trouble. Alas, with pets that's never how it goes, is it?

No, unfortunately, it does not get totally easy after OTJ, although there are definite benefits besides the obvious ones of a healthier cat. Your routine becomes looser - you can actually go out at night and not worry about rushing home to check on the kitty, etc.

We had a problem with forgetting to put the kibble away, too. You do have to adjust for it, and I'm sure your dog will, too.

It's great that Mona's system is overcoming the effects of the kibble so well. Don't get discouraged. You're almost there!
