I’m still waiting on Max’s vet to let me know what to do about his blood pressure medication. It’s frustrating me because it’s like NC State said to follow up with my vet, then I do that. The vet then has to contact NC State to determine what course to take with the blood pressure meds. I’m all for teamwork and consults, but it feels like they are just passing the ball back and forth here, meanwhile Max’s poor body is suffering the consequences (kidneys, heart, etc). The amlodipine does not seem to be bringing down his blood pressure, but I suspect it may have something to do with increased BGs. It has been proven to do that in diabetic humans, so it could be happening. He gets the amlodipine at shot times so I can keep it on a 12 hour schedule, but I may have to experiment with other times depending on whenever I can find out if he’s going to stay on this medication or change the whole regimen. Meanwhile for whatever reason it is, I can’t seem to get Max any lower than the low blue numbers. I’m not certain it’s the amlodipine or if it’s any of his other issues, but I need an opinion about the dose he’s on. Some bouncing is happening of course and he throws in some diving at times. His feeding schedule is the same. 3-4% carb at PS times, 5-7% at +2.5, and @+4. So, any ideas please let me know. Thanks
