Good Morning LL
(LOTS! L just love
), and Happy TUNA Tuesday!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, Lil Bit, kitteh barista!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! Today is TUNA TUESDAY!!! Once again Lola and Bug want to make their famous triple tuna pies, with tuna and nip infused crust, tuna toppings, and now triple tuna infused cheese. YUMMMMMMMM! these pizza pies totally rock! The tuna cheese is a still a little weird, even witht eh added tuna and nip, but I have to admit that they are pretty good! And once again this week please don't ask for a tuna mocha....they is just gross and we will leave the tuna in them tuna pies.
so. well. anyways.
Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and triple shot espresso, beans from the heart of central Ethiopia. and for my mocha fans: Venti Quad orange and vanilla mocha, laced with orange swirls, topped with chocolate whip, garnished with orange zest, slivered vanilla beans and chocolate swirls....SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of orange and vanilla and chocolate swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, topped with crystallized oranges and chocolate drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good! TJ's dunking cookies and Cronuts are along for the ride!
I am saddened to read of Maggie's crossing to the Bridge. Fly Free little one, we will all always remember you, never to be forgotten.
I hope everyone had a great day yesterday. I LOVED mine,. Anytime I get to travel to the North Cascades, and Mt Baker, the day just has to be a good one. I was out the door very early (5:30 AM) as it is a long drive to get there, over 2 hours.... and home even later (like 5PM) so I will apologize for not getting to many condos. Thanks to all of you that take the time to visit me, and read all that is there. It really is appreciated. Yesterday's hikes were really great, even though I had to abort one of them, due to extenuating circumstances: like river forging and a missing bridge. :?  ;-) I don't regret going as far as I could, the area is just wndefful... andyeyas, her is what I wrote in kast night's post: "Hi Everyone! I hope your day has been a good one... I ave just returned home, after an awesome day on the trails. I was late.... Lola and Bug were not pleased, but have forgiven me. Elsa didn't care, as long as the fuds hit her bowl eventually.   I hiked in the North Cascades today, a place called Park Butte, and then on to Blue Lake and Dock Butte. I so LOVE the North Cascades - these hikes are part of the Mt Baker Area, just simple gorgeous. What a day today. omg... ;-) Between the two places I went to I think I did maybe 9 miles, possibly 10, and climbed about 1700 feet, though it felt like 2500. Steep and nothing but up! I Did make Park Butte, but aborted the hike about a mile and a half in. The creek crossing was more than I was prepared for. It required wading/forging: the creek, more like a river, was maybe 15" deep, about 20/25 feet across. and full of glacier melt, so one could not see where one was stepping. I would have done it is I'd had a spare pair of shoes. I just couldn't see climbing another 2500 feet in wet socks and shoes. dummie me, return trip I will have forging shoes. but what I did do was outstanding. It was just beautiful there. I spent some time on that creek, watching the flow. and those cross that had their shoes LOL. someone had placed a log, maybe 3' or 4" in diameter across one section, one guy used that. no.... don't think so - not wide enough. LOL. One has to love the trip reports filed by fellow hikers on the WTA site. One guy said crossing was so easy, boulder hoping was a piece of cake. LOL: he must have been 20. oh sure.... I couldn't figure out what boulders he was talking about. HAHA. oh well, no matter, I was content with what I did do, and went on to the backup site: Blue Lake, which was OK. I'm not too sure I'd go back: limited lake access. There is a butte hike that is tied on with that area, so hit that next. Now that was good, and I will go back for that - lots of alpine views, Baker, Shuskan etc, from about 5300 feet. Lots of climbing to make topside. I will probably feel that tomorrow.
overall though not bad at all. So all in all, a very fun day." Picassa link to the photos, and one video from Dock Butte: Park Butte and Blue Lake and Dock Butte
I am in such trouble.... well I was last night. I WAS LATE getting home, and the welcoming committee made sure I knew they were displeased. There were those cold icy stares.... and eh prancing.... and then there was the dreaded blood oath! on the middle of the steps.... waiting....
NO! Not the blood oath! well.... I did sign it, and it does say "thou shall not be late, under any circumstances. Our health and full belly status are at stake. Failure to be on time shall result in severe repercussions". Scary. so. I ran a s fast as I could, threw fuds in the bowls, and offered them up with chicken dust on top. PHEW! All as forgiven! At least fuds time. By 6PM they were all sound sepal..... by 9 PM they were ready to rumble, and so they did. At 9PM ;-), 10PM ;-) , 11PM :? MIDNITE to 1 AM  :-x and then again at 3 - 4AM. I figure it must be pay back time.... I SWEAR I WILL NEVER EVER BE LATE AGAIN!  and in between all that rumbling Lola was busy shredding another Kleenex box, one paper bag, and chewed the corners off three magazines. Bug swears complete innocence, though I found paper pieces under his chin. ;-) Ad Elsa? Napping through it all. Smart girl.
Have a great day everyone. I am off shortly to have breffis with my son. Later in the afternoon is a Seattle trip for coffee with my work buddy. WOOT! A social day for me!
