Good morning, friends! Our deepest sympathy to Ann; we all love Maggie and Ann and this is a great loss for Ann, our dear friend, as well as for all of LL. Fly free, sweet Maggie.

I got another wake up call this morning from LBG. We were watching her last night because I suspected she's dropping late in the cycle so Mike fed her really early this morning and we thought she was safely at 97. Woke up with that baby all purry and flopping over me, nudging me, cuddling me, so I popped up and checked her.....56. Lil Stinka. She's been her happy little self this morning and I had a lovely morning on the catio with the three putty tats until the landscapers came. And now Gracie is ------> :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil: because she had to come in.

We're thinking she isn't going to be on this dose long but she sure is having some nice cycles. Healing time healing time.

I'm going to be out most of the day. Dr. B. gave my name and number (with my permission) to an older couple whose cat was just dx with diabetes. They live about 45 mins from us and I'm headed over now to teach them to hometest, get them set up on FDMB and the Health board, do a SS, etc. I made them a rice sock this morning so I have some supplies I can take them. Their kitty is on lantus so I'm sure we will see them in LL after they are on Health a while. So I will be back tonight! have a great day.

Wow - Gracie's numbers look so nice!!!

That's great you can teach someone else how to correctly treat their diabetic kitty! I hope you have a good visit with them.

Surprise! Surf safely now, lil Gracie. Glad you can lend some firsthand help to those people. I hope it goes well and they get on track quickly.

Hi Marje. Lovely numbers for LBG today. How nice that she lets you know she's going low.

It is so great, Marje, that you are going to tutor the folks with the newly diagnosed kitty. They have no idea how fortunate they are to have you as their mentor. We look forward to meeting them in LL.

Hi Marje, nice day of greens for LBG! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: Love the way she wakes you to check on her. How wonderful that Dr. B. enlisted your help for this couple. They couldn't have a better teacher/helper.
Thank you so much for your good thoughts here and for your message of condolence from all of you. I love the pic and thanks for lighting a candle and the message. It's still hard to grasp.

Nice surf for Gracie...and how wonderful of you to go help that couple with hometesting! I'd like to offer that service to my vet, but while she knows I do what I do and i think she's a great vet in general, I don't think she wants to suggest it to other people. Just a hunch...one of the customers at my store uses the same vet and has a diabetic kitty. When I told I home test, she said, "Really? We don't have to do that."......'nuff said. We're looking forward to meeting this new kitty!

I think our new friends are a bit overwhelmed. They shot .5u this morning per the vet (not dr.b) without a PS and I tested kitty at +5 and she was 105. :shock: Anyway, we got her up and they did two more tests on their own while I was there. I did get them registered on FDMB and got a SS done. I hope they will post in Health soon.

I'm off for bed...work tomorrow! Have a great night.

Very nice of you to go over and help out that couple.
They are sure lucky to have you show them the ropes. It would have been really difficult for them to figure it out by themselves.

Awesome! So before they even "get here" they have already been able to understand:

Why we always test before shooting.
How to prop up "low numbers".
And they are able to get blood on their first day!
