Champ did an excellent job taking care of himself yesterday and last night. He went to his "super duper secret napping place" behind my daughter's bedroom door yesterday after his +5 test for a snooze. When he went back there, he was at 78 and when I checked him three hours later he was at 80 so I'm sure he had gone lower, but he seemed none the worse for wear. I left then to pick up the DD from the airport and went out to dinner. Her dang plane was an hour late so it's a good thing I had slowly moved Champ's shot time to 8:00 instead of the normal 6:30 or I wouldn't have been able to go out to eat!! I was so tired last night that I had to go to bed at midnight. Unfortunately, because I've moved his shot time forward, it makes it hard for me to stay awake until his nadir. I checked him right before bed and, of course, he decides to surprise me with a 47. I put some MC food in his dish and went to bed, getting up to check him a few hours later and he was at 112. I don't suggest that newbies go to bed when their cat is at 47. As a matter of fact, PLEASE DO NOT go to bed when your cat is at 47. I've spent a lot of sleepless nights, staying awake to test my cat when he's low, giving him different kinds of foods and collecting data on what the different percentage of carbs in the food do for him. I knew I was safe to go to bed because I know how my cat usually reacts to the food.
So far, Champ's doing pretty well this morning. He's acting spoiled with his food, refusing to eat what I set in front of him, but now that he has some food in him, he can either eat the rest or not, whatever. I'm tired of throwing perfectly good food away.
I think I'm going to work for a little bit today, get some stuff done so my Monday isn't so crazy. I sure hope all of you have a really wonderful, restful, happy Saturday!!!
