Yesterday's condo

AMPS 121, +1=107, +4=89, +6=108, +9=98
PMPS 148 (taken after being at vet's office for 1.5 hours, so probably elevated due to stress), +3=89, +6=95, +9=64

10cc Core 5% just after AMPS, +0.5, +1, +1.25, +3.5, +4, +9.25 and 20cc at +4.5.
10cc Core 5% at PMPS +0.75, +1, +1.25, +3, +3.75, +4.25, +4.75 and +9.

Yesterday's values:
AMPS 113 (Still moving the time back by 15 mins/cycle. +11.25), +3=146, +6=80, +9.5= 95
PMPS 105, +1=115, +3=132, +6=62, +6.5=71, +9=99

Shadow is having a good morning. Here's hoping that everyone out there will share in that.

Re: 8/5 Shadow B AMPS 121

ah, little shadow. 0.25u is a tad too much, 0.1 isn't quite bringing normal numbers.

well, let's give shadow a few days to see if those numbers drop back into normal range.

have a great day!

Re: 8/5 Shadow B AMPS 121

If he doesn't come back down, should we consider going the caliper route and trying for just a bit more than 0.10u? I had mentioned before that the method we use to draw that dose gives us something that looks more like the "some" insulin on the photo reference than a full 0.1. Would it be prudent to give that a try? I don't know if I can take many more sleep deprived nights. "Relaxed" Lantus is looking mighty appealing right about now. ;-)

Re: 8/5 Shadow B AMPS 121, +1=107, +4=89, +6=108

It's nice to see that green today. I use calipers to make sure I give Furball a consistent dose. I've never given a dose that small, so I don't know how easy it is to measure.

Re: 8/5 Shadow B AMPS 121, +1=107, +4=89, +6=108, +9=98

Amy&TrixieCat suggested this method, "Most folks do move down to .10U next, which is basically pushing the plunger in as far as possible before sticking the needle into the insulin. Once the needle is in the insulin, let the plunger go and the little bit of suction it had will pull in you .1U. I hope that makes sense!"

It's just the tiniest drop ever. I'm always shocked at the impact it can have on his numbers. LOL

We can try bumping it up just a tiny bit. I'd like to see more green, but I know that our vet will be thrilled with the numbers we've been getting - if she's not freaked out by the lower numbers, that is. I just try to reassure her that we are doing this as safely as possible, even if it does mean that his ears are pretty unhappy right now. I think we may stay here for a little while longer while his ears recover from those hard nights and I catch up on my sleep since I'm confident that he's nowhere close to hypo numbers anywhere during these cycles.

You wouldn't be able to use calipers to measure that kind of dose. Since he's in good numbers, leaving him at this dose a little longer so you can catch up on sleep shouldn't hurt his progress. You have to take care of yourself too. I'm sure he won't mind less ear pokes.

Re: 8/5 Shadow B AMPS 121, +1=107, +4=89, +6=108, +9=98

Bless you, Carla - just what I was hoping to hear! :-D I'll give him a break for now. Do you think testing at AM/PMPS, +3,+6 and +9 should be enough for the next few days?

Re: 8/5 Shadow B PMPS 148, +3=89, +6=95

I think that should be enough, unless obviously you get a really low number.
