Good morning LL! ~O) ~O)

Thanks so much for all the visits and encouragement yesterday. It was much appreciated! :YMHUG: I'm working on my ability to go with the flow here. :-D And I'm really hoping that this is the end of the medical troubles that have plagued us for the last year!

A fly got into the house yesterday so the girls were having a grand time stalking it this morning. There was a lot of leaping about! It's nice to see Nikki so playful again. :-D I can tell the days are getting a bit shorter as she's back to snuggling up by my shoulder at night, instead of on her chair. Yes, it's her chair, I'm not sure I've ever even sat in it! :lol:

Come on, Nikki! You're doing wonderfully!

My cat, Tuff, used to sleep next to my pillow at night, but once I brought in a new office chair, he took that over. I never get to sit in it! If I move him to the bed and sit in the chair, he'll jump up and smash himself between the back rest and my back. He doesn't make a very comfortable lumbar support. That chair looks like it is made of cat hair now; I don't dare sit in it for fear of the dreaded "fuzzy butt". :-D

Good thing that 36 is without any juice! You'd be panicking to see that low number with insulin. ;-)

@Missy they sure do let us know when they've claimed a spot as "theirs", don't they?! :lol: I have a horrible old airplane blanket that I leave on the chair....My neighbors just LOVE when I wash it in our communal machines! :oops: :? :lol:

@Deb I guess she just wants to make the point that she's special! :lol: I don't know why or how she's ok with such low BG, but hey, whatever works! And I'm going to show her your poem for today so I can get my chair back! :lol:

Umm... I live alone in a house with a large screened in porch. My favorite place to hang out in the nice summer weather. I have two cushy chairs and a wicker sofa out there. Guess where I get to sit? To paraphrase that saying, "If you want the best seat in the house, you need to move the cat and put them on your lap." ohmygod_smile

I think I startled my vet when I told him Nikki's been in the 30's...he'd prefer her to be in the 60's... :lol: I tried to tell him Nikki has a mind of her own! :-D

Back in 2010 her BG at the vet was 98, so it's possible that if we took away vet stress that her "old" BG ran low. We also have the ever present specter "the C word". That's been thrown around for a couple of years now with her gastro issues but she did have a clear ultrasound last November....I guess we'll have to let her tell us how she's feeling! :?

At any rate, he wants to check her BG at his office (should be interesting) and we'll come up with a plan from there. I'm hoping the plan doesn't involve x-raying or ultrasounding the lump he felt this spring. :shock: Momma's wallet needs a break!

I hear you! I have six cats and two dogs. I told my vet that as much money as I was spending there, I should have my own designated parking space by now. :mrgreen:

I'm praying that everything is OK with Nikki and that Momma's wallet gets a break for a while.

Thanks Missy! I'm hoping we'll be able to just keep on keeping on as long as she is acting healthy. She seems really good, shiny coat, put a bit of weight back on, playful, etc. so I think we're good...
 
Hmmm...I just got a Freestyle meter in the mail (it was a freebie that I ordered before I knew any better!) and decided to try it on Nikki. I got a 41 vs a 32 on her regular meter. Just barely out of variance realm. Have been wondering if maybe the Glucocard is not accurate at measuring lower numbers...
 
Happy Day 5!!!! WOW on those non-insulin induced numbers :shock: ! So glad to hear Nikki is feeling great...it cracks me up when a fly gets in the house and all 5 kitties go running :lol: !

I have a 1 bedroom apt, I shudder to think of 5 kitties jostling for space to chase a fly here! :lol: My two sound like a thundering herd as it is! Speaking of which, it's suddenly TOO quiet.... :shock: :lol:

Her numbers are crazy, aren't they?! I'm trying not to think about the weirdness, just going with it! :lol:
