I hope the stinky pink and reds are behind us. He probably has been in pink many days at +1 when I didn't test because he was a mid to high yellow at pre-shot.

I woke to the sound of vomiting. He threw up a little fur. Ate his gerber's after his pill. He came into the room while I was measuring the insulin and head butted me. I hope he comes down gently today and not too low.

Vines and prayers to all kitties, beans, and their relatives in need.

WEIGHT 15 POUNDS 3 OUNCES. I'm feeding less but no drop. Hopefully he will start to go down soon.

Hopefully just a food bump at +1. I was hoping it would not even do that with the increase. I'm losing what little patience I had. :twisted:

Hi Elise,

Max had such a great stretch of numbers; I was really hoping all of the bouncing was behind him. Paws are crossed that Mr. Liver gets with the program on this dosecrease and stops the nonsense. ;-)

Point well taken, Marje. Now we have too big a drop. I don't want another bounce so what do I do to try to prevent it? I just gave him a little more lc but wonder if I should have gone to mc?

I probably would have. Those drops can really cause some bounces. I dislike the drops more than the low numbers.

Eta: Weruva has some new flavors out like Fowl Ball and Double Dip. Still low in calories but maybe he'd like the different ones.

I'll check the new flavors out. I just gave him a small amount of food. I'll give him a little mc now as he is meowing by his dish. I just have trouble figuring out if I am overcarbing him.

I know. The difficult part is it's trial and error. I've fed a fast drop with MC and it not only stopped her, she went back up. But I've also fed it the same and she's continued to plummet. Max has extra juice and he's clearing a bounce...factors to consider.

Both good points. I've experienced the same but I haven't had an increase plus bounce clear before. He!s hungry which means he is likely coming down more. He ate the mc. nailbite_smile. Thanks.

Houston, I may have a problem. Max was just hiding under my dresser, the one place I can't get him out of because he is too big. He was meowing if I even touched his ear. I tried to touch the other one and he meowed then as well. I was able to test but he is really acting strangely. I might have to lock him out of my bedroom. I got him out with the fd turkey. I hate to take away his haven. ohmygod_smile nailbite_smile

Thankfully testing went better this time so maybe the neosporin helped. I'm feeding mc now.

You asked a couple of nights ago about fireworks here. Every year in Vancouver there is something called the Celebration of Light that is a fireworks competition between three countries. This year it was USA, France and Japan. Each team gets one night to show their stuff. It's held off one of the beaches on the downtown peninsula and can attract up to half a million people each night. They block off the roads except to residents so people either bus, bike, boat or walk in. Means people living near there (like Mariko) get hoards of people walking by for hours, some intoxicated. :roll: And the fireworks sound is quite loud. I even hear it from my place which is half hour drive away.

That's interesting about the fireworks. Is a winner crowned?

Fed a small amount of mc. That should do it and if anything he might need a little lc. I thought about it this time but decided with the increase and coming off the bounce I would be a little more heavy handed with the carbs.

Nice job steering, Elise. Max definitely took you for a ride. This falls under the "be careful what you ask for" heading - he came down kinda gently, and you kept him from going too low. :mrgreen:

Thanks, Tricia. I've never increased on a bounce cycle before and he was higher than usual lately making me very nervous. It is easier to help others though, isn't it?

We are either at 55 or 71 at 6.5. The meter had too much blood so pulled it out, retested and got 55. Backup meter showed 71. Both are in the same ballpark so I gave him a little S&C and I think he should surf the rest of the day. Or bounce.

I hope Max will keep surfing safely and not bounce back up. I made the mistake of increasing Furball once when she was clearing a bounce and she went zooming down and bounced right back up. We just have to learn as we go.

What a nice run of greens today! Fingers crossed that Max likes the dosecrease and that it will help hold down the bounces a bit.

Thanks for the visits everyone. Some cats remain in green into the next cycle but not Max yet. He is back to a decent pre-shot number but he may bounce. Time will tell.

I went shopping again with my sister to find her a dress she likes better for the wedding. No luck. I barely got back in time for Max. My mom is the same. If this antibiotic is going to work it should be by tomorrow morning. Thanks for asking.

@-) grr_red Boing!! This cat is sick of ear pricks. When will he learn the way out is to stop bouncing? Max appears to be a very slow learner.

Sorry about the bounce...I hate seeing those numbers fly up :evil: Billie has also been losing patience with the pokes, so Max is not alone there. At least the bounces offer a bit of a poke break.
