Good Morning LL!! ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) (Elsa - lots (!!) please! This bean is so sleepy...), and Happy Monday everyone!
LL! It's is I, Elsa, Lil Bit, kitteh barista!, president and CEO of Coffee Cat! Life is GOOD! GUESS WHAT! Today is CHEERY CHERRY MONDAY!! Lola and Bug want to make their cheery cherry pizza pies. I have to admit that they are pretty good! i just wish though that they would keep the cheery cherry whip on the pies, and stop squirting it all over the kitchen. They are all pink now... just like last week, and the week before, abnd the week before that.  OLLIE? Once again we are going to need your sponges! The sliding will be mega good today! so. well. anyways. ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) Coffee time! For today, I proudly offer Elsa's special 10 hour energy coffee, and Double shot espressos, with beans from deep within the mountain slopes of Africa, AND.... for all my Mocha fans: a VENTI Quad cherry infused white mocha/mocha blend with white chocolate chips melted within, topped with a cherry whip garnished with candied cherry sprinkles and white chocolate curls. SWEET! OH! No worries, a dollop of cheery cherry and chocolate swirl ice cream, on top of a dollop of fudge, topped with crystallized cheery cherries and chocolate drizzle.... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... mega good! TJ's dunking cookies and Cronuts are along for the ride!AND!!!! We gots an extra special treat for today: CHEERY CHERRY CHEESECAKE! YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! I love cheery cherry Mondays.

I hope everyone had a great Sunday. I ended up going hiking, the promise of good weather was too enticing. One cannot waste sunny days! The hike was good, a bit long, but no mater. I had a blast! This is what I wrote in last night's post: "Hi everyone! Just got home.... ;-) I did go hiking, I just couldn't pass up this good weather! I think we made 75 here. nice temp, sun finally showed up. YAY! It was nice on the trail though no clue what the temp was up there. I went to hike the John Wayne Trail, out of North Bend. It is an old RR line that has been converted to a trail. travels over Snoqulamie Pass, and actually goes for some distance - all the way to Idaho. Hike was good, though I did more than I had intended. sheshhh on that. I really only wnated about 6/7 miles, just enough to get the juices flowing, see a few things, hike the RR trestles. oh sure.... well one gets caught up in it, and there's always that: "wonder what is around the next bend..." so I did a few of those. And then went oh crap when I checked the GPS and saw I was on 6.5 miles in before I even turned around. HAHA. Well it worked out OK, - it's an easy trail, no elevation, just long. I ended up with 13.5 miles on the legs. Feeling pretty good too, so tomorrow's 7.5 mile climber hike at Park Butte Mt Baker is still on. anyways... enjoyed the day. The RR trestles are something to see. Amazing to me how they even built those. They are up fairly high. The weather was fun: Fog when I got there, low clouds too, for about an hour, maybe two, then sun and blue skies. Kinda a little bit of everything. Fun times!" Picassa link: John Wayne Trail

And.... the welcoming committee was waiting for me when I got home. AND (!!!) I was NOT late. I made sure. I have no desire to suffer the wrath of annoyed kitties. it is darn scary when they produce that signed blood oath, that specifically says no tardiness is locoweed allowed! (ETA, after the fact - darn spellcheck!)  Bug met me first, with some head rubs, Lola was right behind him, meowing up a storm, then rolling on adn down the stairs.   . They both wanted food, mumbling something abut how I didn't give them enough before I left. Elsa I found napping. I had to wake her up. it was like "HUH? You're home? but it's early! Come back later, 'K?" silly cat.... Other than that: NORMALCY IN MUSKETEERVILLE! Once again we had the thundering herd at all hours of the nght.   :-x ;-) ;-) ;-) How can two young kitties that are so small sound like 2000 pound elephants. it is beyond me. You gotta love it.

Have a great day everyone. I am off again today to hike, and will be out the door once I post this. I am going to the MT Baker area to hike Park Butte, way up high in the sky at 5500 feet. SWEET! It's a bit of a drive, so I want to leave early so I can take my time getting there, and not have to rush this hike either. It's a7 RT mile hike, with some climbing involved. oh goodie... nah! it should be FUN! I will try and visit condos when I can. Enjoy your day today!

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN!!

Hey Lil Bit,

Woot Woot! Cheery Cherry Day! I love Cheery anything really! And cheery cherry day is the bestest!

Do you think you can get that cheery whip and bring it to my condo! We can put it on the pool deck and make slip and slides into the pool with it! Doesn't that sound like fun! Of course, Ollie and Gobbles and Spot will have lots of cleaning to do later!

Hmmm do you think it will make a mess of my pool? Maybe we should put it on the deck of the yacht instead so we can slip slide into the ocean. That won't mess the pool and we can feed the fishes cheery cherry whip! Ooooooh wonder if that will attract sharks and other big fishes and if they will think that we are cherries and try to eat us! nailbite_smile nailbite_smile !

Maybe we shouldn't put it on the deck after all.

I know, we can set it up next to the Falls, no fishes or sharkies there and that will be fun slip sliding into the Falls. For all those kitties like Ollie and Mags and Tess maybe it will incentify them to get off the juice and stay at the Falls......ooooooh yes, I think that is what we should do.

Now, is there enough cheery cherry whip?!  ohmygod_smile

Signed Maui the Magnificent, Master of Fun

You are out early, Michelle. Have a great day! Too funny on the kitty stories. Definitely a tub of butter at your house. :-D
Liz

Have funtoday! Mt Baker sound beautiful, looking forward to the pix!

…… that signed blood oath, that specifically says no tardiness is locoweed!

  Or is there something I missed along the way?

Elsa, thanks for the coffee and I'll take three cherry cherry pizzas. yum. Sounds like a great hike yesterday, Michelle. The one you're on right now sounds amazing, too.
Oh your kitties are too darn funny. Be prepared to hear that play time thru the night with two teenagers in the house.
Have a great hike today.

It sounds like you had a great hike yesterday. I love the pictures. I hope you have another good hike today.

I love hearing about the welcoming committee. That's so funny Elsa was snoozing away and didn't want to be bothered.

It sounds like the perfect hike yesterday! And, home on time to boot - the Welcoming Committee must have been relieved!!

Hi Everyone! I hope your day has been a good one... I ave just returned home, after an awesome day on the trails. I was late.... Lola and Bug were not pleased, but have forgiven me. Elsa didn't care, as long as the fuds hit her bowl eventually.   I hiked in the North Cascades today, a place called Park Butte, and then on to Blue Lake and Dock Butte. I so LOVE the North Cascades - these hikes are part of the Mt Baker Area, just simple gorgeous. What a day today. omg... ;-) Between the two places I went to I think I did maybe 9 miles, possibly 10, and climbed about 1700 feet, though it felt like 2500. Steep and nothing but up! I Did make Park Butte, but aborted the hike about a mile and a half in. The creek crossing was more than I was prepared for. It required wading/forging: the creek, more like a river, was maybe 15" deep, about 20/25 feet across. and full of glacier melt, so one could not see where one was stepping. I would have done it is I'd had a spare pair of shoes. I just couldn't see climbing another 2500 feet in wet socks and shoes. dummie me, return trip I will have forging shoes. but what I did do was outstanding. It was just beautiful there. I spent some time on that creek, watching the flow. and those cross that had their shoes LOL. someone had placed a log, maybe 3' or 4" in diameter across one section, one guy used that. no.... don't think so - not wide enough. LOL. One has to love the trip reports filed by fellow hikers on the WTA site. One guy said crossing was so easy, boulder hoping was a piece of cake. LOL: he must have been 20. oh sure.... I couldn't figure out what boulders he was talking about. HAHA. oh well, no matter, I was content with what I did do, and went on to the backup site: Blue Lake, which was OK. I'm not too sure I'd go back: limited lake access. There is a butte hike that is tied on with that area, so hit that next. Now that was good, and I will go back for that - lots of alpine views, Baker, Shuskan etc, from about 5300 feet. Lots of climbing to make topside. I will probably feel that tomorrow.   overall though not bad at all. So all in all, a very fun day. I will post the Picassa links in tomorrow's Loose Lips condo.

Hi Amy - Yesterday was nice, long but nice. I enjoyed it, and three cheers for the welcoming committee. I'm not too sure they will say that tonight though: the bean was late!

Hi Carla - I did! and thx on the pics. Today was good, harder than yesterday's, but what views! I though so too on Elsa, and her lack or participation on the welcoming committee. She didn't miss today though - i was late!

Hi Ann - THX on the hikes, they both are good. Today's was my fav though - I just LOVE the north cascades. So so pretty there! I think you are right - play time is night time! They met me when I got home, ate, and then settled in for a nap. I betcha they wake up at 9/10 again, ready to rumble.
Auntie Ann - you are so welcome!!! I likes the cherry pizzas too. Mega good! ~~ Elsa, Lil BIT, kitteh brista

Ann - oh                 on that typo! sheshhhh - I even proofread that!          how about "allowed" O.M.G! oh well, I will fix it. And yes on today - I love Mt Baker - it is so so pretty!

Hi Liz - Hey thx! they are fun kitties,, crazy fun,. and yes - out early: on the road at 5:30. It was a 2+ hour drive to the place....

Maui! YUPP! it is cheery cherry day! AND we gots cheesecake! heeheehee on the cherry whip -i can do that's ! Fun messes at Maui's! SWEET! oh yeah, maybe the yacht would be better! Good idea! hmmmm.... well maybe you are right about teh deck. Maybe I'll just put it in a big bowl and we can eats it instead. I LIKES that! ~~Elsa.always ready for FUN!

Hi Michelle,
Your hike/climb today sounded fantastic. It probably is just as well that you decided not to do a stream crossing where the water was 15 feet deep :o . And raging water to boot. Can't wait to see uour pics tomorrow. Pics you posted today of the rail trail were neat.

Please tell Elsa that her coffee this morning was a lifesaver, much needed after a sleepless night.

Our fridge was delivered this afternoon. We were really lucky!

Enjoy a terrific evening. You are probably tired?!?

Hugs and scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Hi Ella - Creek was 15 inches, not feet. Sorry! I probably typed that wrong. LOL: do that all the time.... But it was a fantastic time! HX on yesterday's pics too. I like that trail, the RR trestles are really cool. YAY! A new frig? I hope it is perfect! THX on tonight, I just chilled out some, didn't do much, as yes, a tad bit on the tired side, but not as tried as I thought I would be. It was good to do nothing but watch a little TV tonight... Bet I sleep well tonight though. Paws crossed anyways.
Auntie Ella - I am so glad that the brews helped this morning. I is s sorry that you did not sleep last night.... not good! I will be there bright and early tomorrow, for sure! ~~ Elsa, Lil BIT, kitteh barista

Hi Michelle, if I wasn't already tired from 3 consecutive days of rowing, I would be now reading about yesterday and today's hike. That's a lot of hiking. I loved the pictures of yesterday's hike. Those RR trestles are so cool. I haven't done a lot of hiking at Baker, but what I have done seems to have involved crossing streams. Not quite at 15 inches though. Yikes! Snow much be melting like crazy. Sleep well tonight.

Hi Wendy ~O) ~O) ~O) ~O) WOW! Three consecutive days of rowing? That's alot of rowing. and yes, it was alot of hiking, but flat hiking, so the miles kinda click off, at least for the RR one. The north cascades one was a little harder, but wow. so pretty there. THX on the pics - I agree, those trestles are really cool, and one reason why I go back for this one. yes on baker - there are alot of those streams to cross. This one I would have had to get wet.... not on my dance card for yesterday. we will go back when I have shoes to get through it. oh yes on the snow.... this creek yesterday was full of glacier melt too.
