Beautiful AMPS Great SS
Did you guys move in to the new place yet?
We did! About a week ago. Still mostly surrounded by boxes, because I’m still spending too much time working towards a deadline, but that’ll be over soon and I’ll get to do my favorite thing … ORGANIZE! Also, my sister will be arriving on Thursday for a month’s visit, so I’ll draft her into the service of making this place look more like home. Chispa has decided she doesn’t care about the boxes and spends most of her time snoozing on the rug near the screen door to the balcony. It’s cooler here than at my parents’ house because we get the breezes off the water, and she seems to like that.
Wishing you and Cleo a happy day and weekend! :bighug::cat::bighug:

Glad to hear Chispa is settling in, Karen!

How do you like being back up North yourself?!
Hey Deb! Thanks for asking, and well, it’s a complicated answer. I love it and I don’t. It’s SO BEAUTIFUL here that it makes my heart hurt. And I like my new place, even though it’s full of boxes. It has lots of windows and it’ll be nice once I get it sorted out. It’s great being near my folks — I see them a lot — and I even have a cousin in the building whom I had never met before; she’s been wonderful and I’m so glad to get to know her. But leaving 30 years of friends and memories behind has been much harder than expected, not that I thought it would be easy, but I guess I imagined I’d be so busy building a new life that I wouldn’t have much time to dwell on it (not true, it turns out). So it’s kind of a lonely time, but there have been many nice things too and I’m trying to focus on those. My sister’s coming for a visit next week — that will help!!

Leaving decades of life behind can be lonely and stressful, but hopefully you'll make new friends soon and start collecting more memories. Enjoy the time with your Sister! Sounds like a really great time, I'm lucky to get a few days a year with my brother and his family, a month would be amazing!
