Re: 8/5 Alska AMPS = 221
My Bing is an idiot!!! There is a lot of in-breeding in his line and he is also big and strong which makes things worse. He also has feline hyperesthesia and when he feels it, he runs around the house like a madman. He aggressively charges and chases other felines but doesn't stop at the end of the chase until he has a patch of fur or skin in his mouth. He is unable to learn lessons or understand why he is being punished. He doesn't have a mean or nasty bone in his body - he does everything like an aggressive playmate. He doesn't even know how to shave his claws so we have to cut them - often. Last year he put a bite wound on the back of his best buddy. Brio had to have Covenia to heal the wound. I had to separate them which caused them to sleep against opposite sides of the door in companionship. To Bing, this was a successful mission and he tries repeatedly all day and night to do it again. Now he is charging my elderly but scrappy female. I think she is about 16 years old and when she flips him off, he charges her and she is much to frail to fight back. She is at the end of her life and should not have to live like this. I have three other cats and they should not have to live in fear and oppression and I should not have to start and end my day screaming or worrying about the next unnecessary vet bill.
On the other hand, Bing loves people and is an ankle rubber which means he gets kicked into walls and across floors often. He is very affectionate and can be so utterly precious. He is very high maintenance and has to be involved with everything I am doing. I adopted him which means that no matter what, he is mine and I am committed to him. Somebody else obviously could not handle him and brought him to a high-kill shelter the day before gas day. He is five now and I was hoping that he would settle down as he got older but I don't see it. Drugs and isolation are being considered.
Oh and in case you are wondering - yes... I do love him.
