8/5/14 Mom-mom +7-372, 8/6 AMPS 312,+3-174, +4-165,+5-91

Mom-mom has been dropping down for a few hours now. I woke at 4am this morning and did a test and it was 372, then at 8am AFTER she ate again, she was 312. Now at +3 she is 172. Do I need to worry about this continuing to drop, although she ate 2 times already ???? Im confused confused_cat confused_cat

Now at +4 she is 165 and now +5 is 91. Again, between 4 and 5 she had lunch and still went down. Should I worry ??? Or is this a great sign ???

No need to worry about her dropping. The insulin is kicking in and you want her in healthy numbers. It just means she is having an active cycle. You only need to start to worry if she drops close to 50 and then feed to keep her from going under if you are using a human meter. The numbers would be a little higher to watch closely if using an Alpha.

i agree with elise, laura. since you're using a regular human glucometer, she's doing fine. i'd check her again at +5 or 6. You do want to know how low this dose is getting her.

As long as she's above 50, she's fine. 40's mean take action and give her a teaspoon of gravy from high carb cat food, or a drop of karo or honey.

Nice to see her out of the 500's for a change! :-D Being under 200ish protects her kidneys from the damages of too much glucose in her body.

I am not used to seeing good numbers on her for a long period of time. I hope I didnt talk too soon. I will test again at +5. I just worry pretty quick with her, shes like an infant to me :smile:

I will probably check again at +4, I'm sure I can't wait another hour.

I will keep it posted. Thank You all for the input :-D :-D
