Hi to all and THANK YOU FOR ALL THE PRAYERS AND WELL WISHES. I am making phenominal progress. Dr is amazed.
Yes, I'm home, not a very pleasant experience. I have visiting nurses and physical therapy at home. They and my Dr. ave available 24/7 if the need arises. The home health agency is affiliated with the hospital so they have access to my records via the internet. Technology is wonderful.
I tripped over my foot and fell on a hard surface. I have a Intertrochanteric Fracture. The put a 12" titanium rod in the femur and plate and screws in the hip. I have 2 fairly small incisions one with 10 staples and one with 14. I have a walker, crutches and hopefully will be using only a cane in 10 days. I am fully weight bearing on my leg, on pain meds every 6 hours and a blood thinner subq every 24 hours and that is about all. I have a friend staying with me for a few days. I am doing extrememly well. Care I received was fantastic and the Orthopedist was fantastic. They did the surgery early Wednesday morning and it has been steadily up hill. Tuesday and Tuesday night were terrible. They gave me (who never takes meds) morphine every 2 hoursand it didn't touch the pain.
Nancy came in to take care of the cats and Kelly took Lakota for an indefinite period. Tuffy's bgs are running 250 I will give it a few days and see what she does, she is very sensitive to stress. Nancy said when she came they would all wait by the door to see if I was coming behind her. Needless to say I have pleanty of bed company. They smell me like they smell one another when one returns from the vet. Waif is still very upset.

I wll post an update on the board and reply to e-mails as I can. I am so grateful for all the wonderful friends I have. I am also grateful that they did not get upset when I would fall asleep when they were there to visit. The nurses were extremely caring and attentive. I got lots of hugs when I was leaving and an invitation to visit when I was better.
I will start reading condos as I can. Sitting is still a little uncomfortable so I get most of my exercise doing small walks.
Thanks for your thoughts and concerns. I am lucky to be blessed with such good health. Dr. H (ortho doc) said my blood work was better than most of theirs, in fact all my vitals are very good. I go to the Dr. in 10 days and we will see what is next. He did say I was lucky I did not break my knee and lower leg also. Thankfully the right ankle that had the spiral fractures also sustained the fall.
Again THANK YOU. I'M SURE ALL THE SUPPORT FROM LL IS THE REASON FOR SUCH A DRAMATIC RECOVERY. HUGS TO ALL.
